Modding? a Boruit Z001 - Problem Solved - the build is FINISHED. Beam shots are up too! 10,000 Ebay Lumens! LOL

Glad you’re back in business OL. The resist layer isn’t perfect - I sometimes stab a multimeter probe straight through it to get a reading.

Worked on the contact plate today. Photos in the OP. Won't have parts till late in the week, so the week-end will be when I finish the build.

Finished and Beam shots are up. See the OP.

Looks like an amazing personal defense weapon.

Wonder how crazy strobe would look!

LMAO I seriously can’t stop laughing, that is just INSANE!!! Wow, would love to see that in person. Very good work, really hope the owner is happy, I know I would be!

I’m already blinded from the beamshots. 8)

That is one mean light!

wow… just wow, your creations is always bring smile to my face

OL, that is insanity! :Sp I love it. Looks like it could double as a BBQ grill. Might want to wear some sunglass while testing, just to be on the safe side.

Well done (insert roaring audience sound) I love it!

geez, that is one bright arse light!

Who needs a tanning salon?

Heheh, one click mobile tanning.

Don’t tell me why, I somehow missed the drivers. What an amazing array. Orsm effort. I assume you used Mothers on the reflectors reflective surface as well as non reflective surface. This cleaned the surfaces up without damage and if so have you used it on other reflectors?

I thought I seen a glow to the east!! WOW! That would be the ideal search & rescue light... with a flood like that you should find about anything / anyone!! Nice OL! The driver image is a keeper! That needs to be a poster on every modders wall!!

Thanks for sharing! Dan.

Sweet build! If anyone asks about the cause of global warming, I promise I won’t let your secret slip.

I only used it on the very top of the reflector, not in the cups. There was a film all over the top of it. I know it would definitely ruin the cups, but on top, at least it removed the film.

wow!

Amazing work - not sure how I missed this thread! I've seen this exact light, and think did a minor repair. Yes - I recall the cloudy effect over everything as well. There are real practical uses for lights like this out there. Since I got around 6,500 lumens on a J18 with only 6 LED's of XM-L2 U2 1A's on copper in about the same amp range (maybe a little higher), I'm guessing that light is doing in the 7,500 to 8,000 lumens range now.

I could use this light right about now to help me melt the snow

I’m about to start a mod on this same light. I didn’t have a hex key at first to remove the bushings around the driver spring so I started testing the chrome parts for continuity. I couldn’t get a tone from the large outer chrome ring that sits over the large spring. I tried both positive and ground.
Hmmmm.
After I got it off, I tested, and confirmed that the spring is ground. I placed the collar back over the spring, and no continuity.
Hmmmm.
I placed both probes on the on the collar…no tone.
Hmmmm.
Finally, I scratched the probe tips onto the collar and got the continuity tone.
I must admit, you don’t often see chrome collars and spring caps, but is chrome a poor conductor of electricity? I have no idea. If so, I think I’m going to grind the chrome off the top.

By the way. My Boruit came in pristine shape. No cloudy emitters. Perfect reflector and lens. The threads are superb.

Justin. Before I forget. Did you end up sheathing the outside driver tube to make better contact with the with the head?
