Updated: For sale custom P-60 Drop-ins XML, XPG, XRE and others available.

I actually just ordered the parts to start doing the driver programming. I haven't written any code since I graduated college in 99, but I am looking forward to playing around with Tidos code as soon as my parts arrive.

Same as the XM-L ones standard P-60 drop in just uses a different reflector.

16mm here is the link.

Received a 1A tint drop-in yesterday and couldn't be happier.

I also promised E1320 I'd give my impressions sooo...

As mentioned previously the usual spectrum shift across the spill is not present & even the 1A tint does not display any blue or green in the beam.

Very good build quality...everything is solid with good soldering & the emitter is well centered.

Definitely brighter than a Thrunite 1.5A XM-L P60 and from the eyeball test it's in the same ball park with a 2.5A SST-50. It might be a bit brighter but would need to meter it to be certain. I've been a bit late to the harder driven XM-L party so those are the closest drop-ins I have to compare it to.

E1320 also knocked off a few bucks because of a slight blemish on the dome which is completely unnoticeable in the beam itself.

All in all a very good product at a fantastic price from a great guy to work with.

I just did another batch of 1A and 1D and I had a bad driver so I have 8 chips and can add an extra chip for 3.1 amp max if you want.

Also I have some slightly used Manafont/Ultrafire 3 mode XML drop ins for sale for $15 dollars each with the purchase of one of my homemade drop ins.

1a more neutral? i may be wrong, but that is my guess. let me know which is which, i will take one. thanks.

by the way. thanks.

cabfrank scroll up there is a picture of the actual drop in beams 1D is more neutral send me a pm when you decide 1A or 1D, 2.8 or 3.1 amp

On the multimeter the number looks much more impressive otherwise there is no perceivable difference in light output. I had some extra 7135 chips so I figured WTH continuous improvement.

I just want to update everyone still interested in these drop ins. I have received my programming materials and I will be offering custom mode configuration. If you are interested in a custom mode drop in send me a PM and I can try to get it to work for you. I also can stack chips to have say 3.5 amps max on high with a super moon low, the possibilities are very interesting to say the least. I am also going to do a batch of XPG R4 in 3D tint.

The stacked driver sounds interesting !

Since I got my new soldering iron I have successfully added chips to a couple drivers. I just made a 10 chip 3.5 amper for oldbobk. If I can just get my programming to work so I can add a super low mode I will have my ideal driver 5 mode no strobes or flashies super low evenly stepped all the way to a 3.8 amp high.

I really like how you added the chip straddling the bottom two that is a very good idea.

I should probably buy that 16 mode driver so I can copy the file, I have successfully copied the driver programs it's loading them that is giving me fits right now.

8x7135 + 4 more 7135

My soldering iron is a club [ ordered a new one ] and my attempt at stacking failed [ old soldering iron ]

I have a dual XM-L U2 Drop in that needs more current . 4A would be sweet . http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=10995 is this the driver you are using ?

Yes that driver with this soldering iron

I got a AOYUE 936 soldering station from Amazon, this is a Chinese knockoff of the Hakko 936.

with this tip from KD makes it a breeze to stack chips.

I ruined a couple drivers trying to stack chips with my old iron.

Hi Bob,

You finally got it, that is great that it turned out exactly how you wanted it. When choosing a reflector I use a very unscientific method of siting in a dark room and shining multiple lights on the white ceiling while switching reflectors around until I get what I am looking for. I always keep at least two lights going to compare three beams in your case it was three smooth reflectors usually its three OPs. I guess my old eyes picked the right one since it beat the Manafont drop in by quite a large margin. I am positive the same drop in with a 1A tint will be even brighter.

I am so glad you are happy with it, it really helps me a lot when someone knows exactly what they want and gives me specs to go by since peoples idea of the perfect light differ so much.

Thanks,

Erik

got the 1D xm-l with 3 chips, and finally had a little time to goof around with it. it is definitely the best drop-in i have seen, regulated, massive hot spot with op reflector (i am going to try it with smo soon), and a little brighter than my manafont ultrafire. thank you erik, i will be in for another, possibly 4 chip, soon.

Thanks Frank for the great review Bob measured the Lux on his drop in and it was 25% brighter than the Manafont drop in.

I just finished a batch of XPG R4 3D neutral tint drop ins driven at 1.7 amps, they are the brightest XPGs I have seen, if anyone is interested send me a PM. There is a beam shot of the 3D tint above it is the best tint of any drop in I have seen to date.

I also just made a couple single mode 1A tint XML direct drive drop ins fully potted that pull 3.8 amps for firearm use. These are designed to be firearm mounted for target designation only and are not designed to be run for extended periods of time. I have some 28mm aspherical lenses and remote switches for the Ultrafire 500 series of lights I can include with these.

So far everyone who has received these drop ins have been very happy with them and that makes me very happy.

Thanks,

Erik

At this point I am able to copy the program on the chips erase the chips, but I am unable to reload the program. I am sure there is a minor step I am missing and I will figure it out when I get some extra time and the motivation to do it.

E1320 ,

Would you be able to produce a bright single mode neutral XML or XPG dropin that would work in an L2r .

That's right , a 2 AA light .

Because I want one .
