Nice one, I wanted solar one but ended up buying regular DW5600 given that solar costs quite more yet doesnt give that much difference as far as it concerns battery life questions.
I have a Casio dive model. The battery is supposed to last seven years. The first time it lasted longer than that, and I have changed it several more times, so it was probably made before most of you were born. Works fine, but I can’t remember some of its functions. The mechanical watches I used to have usually died from getting wet.
Picked up a used 5.11 Field Ops Watch, got lucky it just needed a battery but also now needs a new o-ring. I get sweaty wearing regular watch bands so made a paracord band for it. No sweety wrist!
This is using the similar module as DW5600. The bezel and strap also interchangeable. The only special about this model is the screw back case just like the original first G-Shock (DW5000C).
I have about 6.5” wrist too. Don’t worry in the past I have limit myself to not get watches bigger than SKX007 but ended up buying larger watches like Sumo and MM300 (sold :_( ). I think the biggest I could go for my wrist now is Sumo. SKX007 is so small for me now. Best thing about them is they tend to look smaller than actual size because of the bezel and smaller dial. 40mm pilot watches would look ridiculous on me though because of the larger dial.
Just submitted a offer of $22.50 (about $20US) on a Casio HDD-S100-1AV and it was accepted.
The one on the left is the one I just bought, the one on the right is a HDD-S100-3AV and actually has a green band.
I’m tempted to buy a green one and swap the black faced module into the black one.
Currently I wear a Casio G-Shock DW-5600E but I’m trying to decide my favorite black on black version similar to the the DW-5600MS-1 before I buy anything else.
Also I have been interested in the Seiko and Orient Mako “Pepsi” watches but don’t know much about them.
