Review: XinTD C8 SC-82/V4 (3C neutral white)

I have got the high cri version, and I’m very pleased with the tint, and its very bright on high.

Any idea why the T6 is more expensive than the T4 high CRI?

OK guys, been doing a bit of reading and I really like this light.

I think I would like to try one of the warmer/more natural LED options, but I am confused as to the difference between these two options; which would you choose and why?

1. XM-L2 T4 SB1 (80 CRI Min.)
2. XM-L2 T6 3A (+$1.99)

Is there going to be a large difference in either color rendition and/or overall brightness with these two options?

The T6 will be about 15% brighter than the T4, visually it will be a very slight difference.
The tint and color difference between the two will easily be noticeable though.

If you want the warmer more natural tint then definitely go with the 5B1 80+CRI.

Thanks! I’ve got a few budget lights now and none of them are quite as warm/natural as my Fenix TK15 is. When looking at far away objects it seems that the less bluish light brings out more detail, even if it isn’t quite as bright. Just wasn’t sure if I was taking a huge hit in brightness to get just a little bit better color rendition.

I’ve noticed this too, even though cool white is brighter the warmer tints/higher CRI will somehow bring out more depth.

Thanks a lot for the review! Frontpage’d and Sticky’d.

Hi foy (if you are still there!!) or anyone owning this light? What is the runtime at each output level? How about regulation?

Nice review Foy, again!

This one’s on the way to me, I’m quite sure I’ll love it even if I wind up stacking a few chips. Thanks for heads up and the nice pics, even if I’m a bit late to the party. (As usual)

I’m no flashlight expert so I can’t comment on most technical stuff. But I just received my light from Hank and have to say WOW! What beautiful craftmanship and quality, at least as far as I’ve seen in the few days I’ve had it. Can’t imagine a better deal for what you get.

Thank you, Hank!

Just got the 3c version. It is built quite well but is a bit heavier than expected. The heft seems appropriate though and adds to the feel of quality. A soft, partial push on the rear button will cycle through the modes. I got the 5 mode unit as I liked the low better but know I can choose a different mode set if I wish. Mine had a few very small marks but not enough to dull the excitement. I was concerned that the stock GITD bits would look a bit cheap but I like the contrast to the Champagne color.

This and a Solarforce L2P for my son with a Int’l-Outdoors drop-in seem to be great first buys for us and leaves us not on the hunt for the ‘next one’. This may change but I am glad I could read the reviews here and make an informed buying decision!

Ordered 12/29/2013, but no joy yet :frowning:

I received email status=shipped on 01/02/2014 but have yet to receive my order.

I was really looking forward to getting one of these thanks to this very nice review.

Relax. Intl-outdoor have a rep of taking forever to deliver products, but always seem to pull through. In any case, open a paypal dispute before the time is up and just close it if/when the package arrives. :)

Welcome to BLF!

It doesn’t surprise me. In fact many of the Chinese sellers are delivering extremely slow lately. All of my orders arrive in 1-2 months time or even do not appear at all and I made ordered from various Chinese sellers. They used to be arrive in about two weeks time but not anymore. I guess it is the custom or flight issues but not sure.

Welcome to BLF.

Thanks for the advice - and for the welcome.

I’ve still got a couple of weeks to file a PP dispute if it comes down to that.

Hello all…first post here!

Pretty new to the “budget” scene…have some Surefire, Fenix and Nitecore…seems I’ve been wasting alot of money over the years!

I am going to order this light this week, Quick question though regarding the UI…I apologize if I missed it in the exhaustive review, but does it have momentary on? I plan on ordering the 2 mode from Mountain Electronics.

I just lost my Fenix PD31 in New York Harbor and figure I can replace it on my duty rig with the XinTd for half the price!

Thanks in advance, I am learning alot here…seems to be a great community!

Welcome to the Forum. Maybe a PM or Email to member RMM will get you some quick results to your question. Or ask the question in here. MTN Electronics: LEDs - Batteries - Lights - Chargers - Hosts - Drivers - Components - 1-Stop-US Source

It does have momentary on (the current version has a forward clicky, the older version had a reverse clicky) BUT the stock firmware has mode memory. So, if you turn it on momentarily for less than 2-3 seconds it will switch to the next mode when you turn it back on. In two mode configuration it will alternate between the 15% and 100% levels with each rapid press of the switch. You could fix this by removing the driver and making it a single mode.

Just got mine yesterday. I like it a lot already. 3c tints may be a new go-to thing for me - I used to not really care much about tint, except for ‘not purple or green’. If you don’t want to wait for the slowboat, you can get it from RMM. I did. (No connection, just a happy customer.)

Funny, this light and an L2P with IOS dropin were my last 2 purchases. I hope it’s not becoming a cliche.
