had a suspicious vehicle parked back in an old logging road on the property I work for…it was deep snow and for safety I did not want to walk in and meet the vehicle…I stood at the main road and set my belt duty light to strobe (olight m22) signalling the vehicle to come out of the logging road…eventually they responded by flashing their high beams and I gave them a couple return flashes every time they did…they started to move and left the property without stopping…used the light to grab the license plate for the report…seemed like a drug thing…flashlight is one of the best tools I have at work…it does a lot of work for you if used effectively…
Use of Quark on medium to unscrew and clean a keyboard with lights. The “T” and “Y” key wont register randomly. After a through cleaning, it still was acting up. $35 down the drain. Got 2.5 to 3 years use on that. Way too little for a keyboard. A g100 logitech gaming combo can be had for the same money 
Used a Small Sun T08 since it was only 10 feet away to work on a recliner chair that had a broken bolt.
I’m painfully photosensitive. I don’t get along with the sun.
When I wake in the morning, I typically stumble over to the bathroom with my eyes shielded from the day star, close the door, and use a little EDC light on low to see what I’m doing. Usually a L3 L10-219 or ZL SC52 or JETBeam RRT01 or CNQG brass light, whatever is handy.
During the day I don’t have a lot of need for torches, but I still use them probably at least three times during an average afternoon. Maybe I dropped something and need to change the light angle to find it easier, maybe there’s a dark corner I need to see into, maybe I’m just having trouble finding something in my purse.
I find showering more enjoyable if I leave the lights off and use a L3 L10-219 on low (~3lm) as my only light source. This also lets me see details better than an overhead light, if anything is particularly dirty or I otherwise want to see well. (did I get all the belly button lint out?) And the beam can make pretty patterns while reflecting off ripples in the tub, or it makes what looks like little bits of ball lightning when shower droplets hit the floor and become nearly perfect reflectors.
In the evening and at night, I usually don’t bother with overhead lights unless I’m going to work at the computer for a while. If nobody is around, I’ll just wear my Zebralight headlamp as a necklace, which provides hands-free light wherever I need it. I tend to get teased about this when I’m not alone though, so I’ll often use a traditional light instead — any of the little EDC lights I mentioned above.
If we feel like just hanging out and talking, my CNQG brass light works well as a mood light, ceiling-bounced on low (~12lm).
Pretty much any time I use my car, I turn on my keychain light (DQG Tiny AAA IV) to and from the car, for finding the ignition and the seat belt slot and such, then for finding my house key and key hole when I return. The dome light in my car only works once in a while; loose connection or something.
If I go biking, I mount my Convoy S7 onto the handlebars. It has a particularly nice beam pattern for this. The Convoy S3 is okay too, but its hotspot is more distinct so it’s not quite as nice. Either one works well for digging through things in my crawl space, too. Or, if we go for a night walk, I’ll generally use one of my little EDC lights to illuminate our path (3lm to 15lm is generally fine). For any outdoor excursions, though, I often bring a XinTD C8 in case I want to look at anything far away.
When it gets late enough for bed time, I aim a ZL SC52 at the ceiling on its 0.34lm setting, and leave it on until morning. It takes a couple months to drain an Eneloop this way. It’s just the right amount of light for chatting with my partner until we’re sleepy, and for getting to and from the bathroom in the middle of the night… though I’ll usually leave the SC52 where it is and grab my L3 L10-219 instead, using it on moon mode.
… and that mostly covers the common, mundane, daily stuff I use my lights for.
Oh, and before I moved, any throwy light at all was a huge help in finding the cats at night. I’d just hold it near my eyes, and any nearby small critters would light up as soon as they looked at me.
I’ve lent my convoy c8, small sun zy-t08 and my tk75 to the volunteer firefighters in my village, we have some harsh weather conditions.
Cyclone warning class 3 there. That means everythings closed and you can’t get out normally. Used LiteXpress Liberty 113 (headlamp) with a K2 Luxeon stock led to move a 10ft diameter antenna to safety. Took some time and the headlamp was much needed!
Just before bed, thought I should check the gas in the snowblower as we were expecting 8-12” of heav wet snow here…
rather than annoy the nearby neighbors w a spread of outdoor lights at 11:30pm I trekked outside to the light from my favorite little SF L2M shorty. Had plenty of lumens. Annoyed something in the woodpile (nearest to where I store the fuel cans outside) just as I left.
We had about 8” before it turned to heavy rain and the snow so wet that the blower was not as useful as I hoped.
Got to fix that darn pitiful little light on the blower too…got an IS light to wire and mount there.
used my olight a3t to look for a ping pong ball in a supersonic shock tube at work today…
what is a supersonic shock tube?
Some people spend their whole lives trying to answer that question.

If I understand correctly, a supersonic shock tube is meant to direct shocks at components or devices in order to test them to see how they will perform when transitioning from subsonic to supersonic speeds. Presumably in a vehicle such as an aircraft.
today i used the new Defiant Zoomie(with an 18650) in the backyard to check on a Geocache i have there near the fence.
ours is a tube with a diameter of 10 cm and a length of 2+2m. Between the two 2m sections we have some membranes that bursts by enough pressure. We fill one of the 2m sections with pressurized air, and at around 6 bars of pressure the membranes burst, sending out a supersonic shock wave (@480-510 m/s) through the second 2m part of the tube.
This is part of an European union science project for studies and measurement of dynamic pressure. (not shooting ping pong balls per se, but looking at the response from different pressure sensors and other equipment/settings related to the data collection)
I used a few lights to light up this ice line. One on a tripod and three duct-taped to trees. A great way to climb in the darker winter hours after work
