Where to find, forward clicky and momentary/twist (No click) tailcaps for 504, c1, L2 etc

Anybody other than the solarforce models have such an animal?

I have searched manafont, Dx, KD and everywhere else I could think of and forward click tailcaps or the press in/twist on momentary seem extremely uncommon if existent at all.

Shiningbeam sells forward clickies for about $3 each. They are sold as replacements for one of the Rominsen lights but they work on many others. I have a P60 host. I think it's a Uniquefire L2. I took the reverse clicky out and put one of the SB forward clickies in. It's not an exact replacement. The switches from SB are smaller and are designed to not need a retaining ring. They have threaded bodies.

They work on many other lights because they are smaller and are just held into place with the retaining ring. You may need to cut off part of the rubben plunger from the back of the tail cap or make minor adjustments initially to make them work. Once you get all that straightened out they look and work just like they were made for that light.

I've fitted them in both a P60 L2 host and on my Uniquefire HS-802 thrower.

I tried 2 different models of those and couldnt get good enough contact to work consistently. I'll have to revisit.

They do have short springs and the overall switch/spring size can be shorter than what you had in there and can be a problem in some lights. You can always add magnets to make up the difference if necessary. The more common issue in my experience is that the little tab on the back of the rubber tail cap cover is generally too long for these switches and needs to be snipped back.

Good luck!

Any source for twisty tailcaps? Or even a list of the exact threads used by various flashlights if that exists anywhere.

WF-501a with a twisty if available would be very handy pocketable host.

You probably want these. :)

my L2T Fw clickly fits an functions fine on my C1 without modification apart from the color difference its at home , I would think that the SF L2 range of Fw clickies would most likey suit ya C1 , I cant be sure I only have an L2i & L2t to try , hopefuly others may

l2t

I did check tManafont and other sources and did not find a "twisty" listed.

I don't see one with the search you suggest, did you find one there for some light?

Possibly I was not clear, I mean a tailcap that does not have a switch at all.

Twisty is shortest possible cap. So the flashlight turns on and off by tightening and loosening the tailcap.

I've never seen a generic one sold by itself.

what light is it for?

And you will need it to have anodised threads too... for it to work as a twisty. I haven't noticed anything, but haven't been looking.

I came looking because I read the topic headline -- I'm asking the same question, where to find any such. Any flashlight that can take a twisty would interest me.

I don't think I've seen a tail twisty flashlight (only head twisty), but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there.

I suppose any side clicky w/ anodized threads could be considered a tail twisty, but then they're generally longer than the same class light w/ tail switch...

I finally just made what I was after. If you take the s7 tailcap from SF and cut it back to 2mm longer than the knurled band around it, it will fit and function on the c1 body. As it comes from the factory, the threads are right but the body is too long and the plate at the back of the switch that must come in contact with the body is about 2mm short of making contact. Once cut down, it works fine and will still work on any of the other lights as well.

A crude way would be using teflon tape on threads with stock switch.
