Decided to de-lurk

I don't want to sound crazy but my favorite is vermont vapors lemonade when they decided to discontinue it I had them mix a full batch for me it is well over a years supply. I also enjoy there blueberry, blackberry and cola. The best part about vaping is it cost me about 50 cents a day compared to $6 for a pack a day before.

Welcome to BLF. I don’t smoke, regular or vapor, but every time the E-cig subject comes up I am intrigued. Some of the units are pretty cool looking. How about a link to the best place to check into these things and learn something.

Hi there MidnighToker, welcome to BLF! Thanks for "de-lurking", hope you enjoy your time here!

When i switched over to e-cigs, this is the site i used to make all of my decisions. There is so much to read... But, if you're interested or even just wondering what it's all about, IMO this is a good place to start... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/

Welcome to BLF, Midnight!

Welcome to BLF MidnighToker!

Aloha and welcome to BLF MidnighToker!

Every once in a while I like the maui wowie blend.

Personal favorites are Robacco and Crimson Cow (Red Bull :D) from BlueMistVaping.com and Gorilla Juice (ridiculously addictive!!) from avejuice.com

Yes, ECF is probably the most hospitable forum to learn about vaping. Only problem is that the "fanbois" can get a bit rabid over their own personal favorite device/mod. I personally spend more time at http://www.vapersforum.com , but the users there can get a bit rowdy.

Been vaping for over 2 years now and is probably the best choice that I've made in a long time.

Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks guys.

new vaper on the forum here too. vaping exclusively almost 5 months. i use the prodigy v3.1 from puresmoker @ 6v. like my rcr123a's in my lights, and in my ecig :P fav vape is the old CashCap... they also discontinued and i only have about 20ml's left on reserve...

something about a hunk of steel full of potential explosives in your hand makes you feel all warm and fuzzy... oh yeah collect guns too

Welcome to the madness Pulsar.

Looks like you live close by I spend a lot of time in Maine snowmobiling in the winter.

A 'Vapers' sub-forum around here......I'm another eGo-T user (switched from a 905 after 14 months).

E-cigs, hmmm.

I bet I would try if only I was addicted more to nicotine. They seem very interesting, far more interesting than regular smokes (which I have never smoked).

Over cigarettes I prefer cigars but only about once /month (see avatar).

Hmm, might just start cigar-thread over offtopic...

BTW:

What cells do these e.cigs usually use?

Li-Ion or NiMh, what size? Protected?

Can you change the bare cell or do you always need a new one.

Welcome to the forum. I live in the CLT area of NC. The ecig thing is interesting to me but I have no desire to start a new "hobby".

I forgot to say Welcome to all newcomers...

Better late than never

I haven't had one die yet so I haven't pried one open, but my usb powered ones say ICR10440P 360mah on them so I assume they are standard protected 10440 Lion batteries.

Well, that already explains a thing or two.

On some local forum, people are wondering why batts arrive DOA, don´t last long and/or claimed bigger capacity batts don´t last longer.

For what I´ve tested, these 10440 unprotected (and protected) Trustfires and ultrafires lose their performance really fast :(

I bet they are unprotected, BTW ;)

The sealed factory batteries have built in over-discharge protection... So they are at least partially protected. When it gets down to a certain voltage, it will not work anymore :)

they are mostly Li-ion, some lifepo4, some use regular ol nimh (they call it the puck). they all use rechargable batteries. unless you get a mod, the batteries are not easily user replaceable. mods usually use anything from a 10440-26650. my mod uses 2 lifepo4 rcr123a for "6v" vaping. some people are happy with 10440s, they make for a small mod, and you can carry a few extras to make it a day. i think the usual is 3-4 hours vaping on one. ill usually make it a day on my lifepo's. they even have a custom nimh "5v" battery for vaping

if any of you smoke and is interested, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com is great. i think the ecig and flash communities could merge quite nicely

edit: almost all the ecigs that you cant easily replace the batteries are regulated and have protection. i believe the ego is regulated to 3.2v if i remember correctly. and most ecig users recommend "safe" usage of batteries, either it be a safer chemistry or protected cells

sorry for helping go off topic
