I am addicted to CR123 size lights now.

You wrote the EXACT same thing in post #58,except now you added that the Nitecores are not that impressive!! I wonder if my post had anything to do with that? Hint: Trustfire/Ultrafire comment!

lol!!

EDIT: Now you DELETED post #58,and it became mine because I was next in line!!! lol!

Typing on fone & had a cupl…

Check this out! this is “typical” of these kinds of batteries. Click on “Blue Highlights”[5000mAh rated battery] to see what kind and a review of this battery!!!

I’ve only tried two CR123-sized cells…

  • Nitecore NL-166 (RCR123A) protected 650mAh
  • KeepPower 900mAh ICR18350 protected button top

The Nitecores go into my JB RRT01, one at a time. It can fit 18350 batteries, but it turns out the KeepPower cells are too long to fit. It doesn’t seem to have low-voltage protection, so I stick with protected cells.

Two KeepPower cells go into my P60 (SF L2m) with UV drop-in, since it works much better at ~8v than at ~4v. They just barely fit though, due to the massive protection boards on the ends. I figured I should use protected cells since the drop-in is basically direct drive with no low-voltage detection, but… wow, these cells are huge. It took a few tries to even get them both in at the same time without crushing anything.

In any case, both seem okay for my purposes. I prefer thinner, longer cells though.

Did some looking around and found that ToyKeeper’s use of the Nitecore is warranted! Read 8 reviews on it at Fasttech and they swear it is the BEST and their search is over. Plus Fasttechs’ price is under $7.

So.... I have received many of my orders.

I still have a M11r sirius Ti and M11r sirius triple XPG2 in transit from overseas though

Don't forget the Xtar WK 21 ....

I have two and the uniquefire uf-k21 clone my favorite 16340 light :D

I ordered one of those in the 5 mode format from Fast Tech today!

I need to take another photo… lol my m11r siruis just go there

Here is my meager collection, though I did just get the EX10 from Boaz in the mail today—thanks Boaz!

Next on the list for CR lights for me are the group buy Spark SF3 NW and maybe the Ti S10 or D25C.

i got mine from boaz too

The EX10 looks interesting, primarily because nobody makes piston switches any more. It’s kind of a fascinating design.

He still has a few more for sale I think. HKE has both the DX11 and EX11 for sale I noticed the other day.

if you are interested in one - shoot boaz a pm - he will hook you up

they are easy to mod to something like a nice xpg2 neutral and they scream on a 16340 imr

Grail Goals:

1. High CRI is more important than Tint
2. Tint is more important than Color Temperature,
3. Color Temperature is more important than Battery size.
4. Rotary is more intuitive than Clicky
5. Noble Metal is higher priority than low weight.
6. Bling is more important than price.
7. Pocket clip is more important than lanyard ring.
8. NoFlicker is more important than max lumens.

High CRI, Tint Below the BBL, Neutral White, Rotary, Titanium, Tritium, Pocket Clip, NoPWM = Win, Win, Win, Win, Win, Win, Win, Win:

none of those look white to me

You woke it up, Jon. Why? WHY?? :weary:

I’ve actually started to appreciate 18350 cells. Notably longer runtime than RCR123 cells. But, CR123A do rule the shelf life though. 10 years is a long time!

thanks
the High CRI LED swaps made them brighter too
win win

definitely
Five of the CR123 sized lights I posted, are 18350 compatible

RRT-01, TCR-1, Eye10, Eye10 TiC and PT-16

I like your list of ‘grail goals’ :+1: It doesn’t line up exactly with my own preferences but I’ve never thought to write them down in a ranked order either
