Recommend me some 18350 lights

That is very weird. The only thing that stopped me from getting the Eye10 is because the rated brightness was pretty low:

That’s because they rated the eye10 on cr123. If you go to the link you’ll see that.

Ah, that makes much more sense, thanks for the clarification.

Weird how the manufacturer wouldn’t put the actual max number of lumens.

This fits a 18350. I received one yesterday. I had to put o rings on it and grease it up a bit, but I am not too disappointed. The mode spacing is too close together but memory works well.

Thank you for adding the Marsfire 616!

I found a photo of the driver side on Wallbuys, unfortunately there is just a spring and contact plate visible, I wonder if there is a standard 17mm driver inside that can be swapped out easily?
Would be nice to have better mode spacing.

Is the clicky reverse or forward?
How is the tint?

Forward and the XPG2 is pure white, not at all blue or purple. I like the tint and I order NW in all of my lights if it is an option.

any small and budget 18350 flashlight? (like https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10002463/1198401-ultrafire-602c-diy-led-flashlight-host-with )

Hi,

The 602C is a CR123A light, so it uses more like a 16340, rather than 18350 battery.

yes i know. i need something with similar lenth size/compact to the 602c but with the 18350 battery capability

Will an 18350 fit in that host? The description only says cr123a.

no ,so i am looking similar that can fit a 18350.

I’ve found some indications that the MarsFire 303 is compatible with 18350 batteries. This seller on Alibaba states that it uses 18350:

And if you read the review on Fasttech the user there is very disappointed that his 16340 rattles a lot which lead me to believe that it should be able to use 18350.

Go ahead and try and tell me so I can buy one myself.

Oh, and then you have the Niteye EYE10 and Jetbeam RRT-01 . Haven’t tried it myself though, a bit to expensive for my taste.

yeap masefire is the only one i found in the budget range ,but is a bit big for a 16340/18350 flashlight.

Here is the same light with Ultrafire branding for less money;
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1359000

I have it, it takes 18350 no problem.
The other guy with the Marsfire is probably using a cheap low capacity unprotected 16340 which would be on the small side and that is why he is having flickering issues.
If you are running a 16340 you could always wrap the battery with a small layer of tape, etc. Being that the light will take the larger cell, it is going to have some play side to side, can’t have something for nothing:)

As far as size, I just stood it next to a Sipik SK68 and it is just barely taller, obviously thicker, so not really sure how it could be smaller unless you find a different light that is a twisty.

The Ultrafire is a very nice light, very bright with good flood, smooth beam, tint is good white, not blue, etc. Nice clear glass lens.
Clip is strong but not too stiff like some of the SK68’s can be.
Mine has mode memory that works well.

Did anyone ever buy one of the Trustfire L2M’s? If so could you post a review here? I have the Solarforce L2M minis, but would like one in silver. I don’t know if I would keep the drop in or not. So I am interested in a review of the host as well as the drop in.

I have a couple of the Solarforce L2M’s which I use as Mini’s. On one I have the L2T Head with a flat bezel and a stand tail forward clicky. It is quite light to carry with the smaller head. I have a XM-L2 Solarforce drop in and use an Xtar IMR18350 850mAh battery. This set up I have on me 24/7. So if you want a good small powerful flashlight buy the Solarforce L2M and take out the extension.

The Solarforce Z-1 is also quite good with a XP-G2 LED powered by a CR123. Not as many lumens as the XM-L2 but also much smaller than the L2M.

That runs on a 16340 or CR123, not an 18350. I have one that looks the same, but of another brand. It won’t fit an 18350.

the new Nitecore EC11 is a nice 18350 light.

OK So I bought a Trustfire L2M from FastTech. I am pleasantly surprised and a little disappointed. On the good side the Trustfire L2M is almost identical to the Solarforce L2M with some minor differences. It uses the old style inside bezel but takes the Solarforce nickel flat top bezel. The lens is glass. The head is the same but about 1 mm longer than the Solarforce. The knurled part of the body is slightly longer on the Trustfire. The knurling is a little slipperier on the aluminum. The tail cap is a standing variety and a little longer than the Solarforce. There are two small holes drilled in the tail cap to hold the lanyard which is easily removeable. The rubber boot is smaller than on the Solarforce I can’t tell if it is 14mm or slightly smaller but the GITD green 14mm boot fits. What doesn’t fit is a Solarforce forward clicky switch, The TrustFire is slightly smaller and is 1 unit and not in 3 parts like the solarforce. [EDIT: when i oringinally wrote this I said the Trustfire clicky came in 5 parts. That is incorrect, I got the trustfire clicky confused with a C8 I also had opened at the time.] The Solarforce version is just a tad too wide so it won’t fit all the way down. The other thing that doesn’t fit is an 18350 battery. That is the disappointing part. The walls of the body in the Trustfire are thicker than the Solarforce. What was very surprising is the drop in seems very powerful and not just a piece of junk thrown together. The center hot spot is well defined and the throw is as good as the Solarforce XM-L if not a bit stronger. I had assumed that my $11.xx (they only had the version that came with a cheap charger and an Ultrafire 16340 1000mAh battery) would be for the host and I would have to buy a replacement drop in, but these drop ins are keepers. I am so pleased I bought a second, before I saw that DX has the same TrustFire version without the charger/battery for $8.99. Darn it

One other difference between the TrustFire and the Solarforce.is the reflector on the Trustfire has a couple of fins which I assume helps with the heat transfer. I turned the Trustfire on at full bright and left it on for about 10 minutes and there was very little heat in the head. I assume that maybe the aluminum head helped let the heat escape rather than the black anodized.head.

All in all I am very pleased with the Trustfire and at this price and size the TrustFire L2M is a steal for how much light it puts out…

Did you find one to your liking?

Nitecore EC11 !!!
