Great job so far. I love how original it is. And the use of copper to surround the head of the metal bolt is just awesome.
And I can really relate to some of the things you are thinking about. Like how good it is not to have everything planned 100% because then you can be creative and come up with new ideas. And how that makes you fear to do something that cannot be undone if it does not work.

Specter= scepter(?) on a long pole it would look cool or even a shorter kingly version could fit many 14500 or 14650 cells 3p like your nimhs. A pearl like ball at the bottom( or maybe a round trit). Curious to see what you come up with for the rest of it.

i have a problem with batteries too, if i go 18650 flash will look ok and elegant but not sure on performance, and if i go to AA it will be fat and not good looking….
right now my head is full of dilemmas again, i better clean it up soon or i think will not have enough time to finish it.

meybe I find some other tube little bit thinner and more solid. currently in supermarket trying different objects that can swit my needs and security is keeping an eye on me because my actions looks suspicious lol pic later.
different tubes I think to use in different diameters from ~45mm to ~65mm just to see how well they feel in hand…

Ledsmoke haha if you like it than maybe i make one shell with that bravo drinking just for fun. I think to experiment little with that denim too, its big if i remeber right now around 60 mm diameter and that is a plus for me in the sense I can realize what I have in mind from the start, that can use both 18650, and AA too. I need AA to have high current draw, but maybe they will not deliver in the end …. who knows
my plan is to put 3x18650 or 3x3 AA in parallel if i get over 4 A to the led i will consider it success in my mind :bigsmile:
I just hope that that in 4.5 V setup for AA (3AA in series), they will not drop V too much under load, other-ways they will be useless as performance boost in my setup.
anyone have experimented with alkaline AA? any numbers in different setups? how about in 6 V setup X2 or x3 in parallel that 6V setup how much current they can handle ? how much voltage will drop under load then?
all this is because i want to use amc7135 and not FET or something else and be able to go at least over 4 A to the led (xml or xpg or what ever)
my driver can handle ~5.5A theoretically but voltage drop of batteries under load is the big barrier in my project ….

I vote for black. The cans look recycled. There is nothing wrong with recycled, save for the impression that your light is re-purposed junk from the roadside. While the black maintains the impression that this is a light is an artistic creation of yours. Or I think too much. Either way I enjoy seeing your work.
Very original! Is that a stage lighting lens? Where did you get it?
I prefer the descriptive “revitalized junk” but I think some silver flames in that black ala OL would be cool. Or maybe just a hand print 
I like the black tube, maybe with a red thumb print? Or a print panel lock-out?
Think I’d stay with the 18650, keep it light and know the cells performance level is up to the task. Or a 26650 King Kong for the capacity of it.
