You can get it cheaper on eBay from China but you have to wait for the auction. :zipper_mouth_face:, beware the MAP police. Opps where are my manners, thanks for the nice write-up Chloe.
Thanks! It doesn’t come off. I used a Coolook blank .
I do like the way the size feels with 1x14500. The length feels right. If the body was shorter I don’t think it will be as comfortable to use because of accessing the side-switch.
It is a little longer than a Convoy S5, which I think is a really nice size:
i’m curious about the turbo mode using 2x nimh. seems like the “550 lumens” is not sustainable for any useful amount of time. on your graph it seems like it takes a nosedive immediately, and i mean it really really falls like a brick, and that perhaps 550 lumens only lasts for like 5 seconds or so? probably even less…
if so then it’s really no better than it’s cousin the foursevens QP2A-X which doesn’t brag about a “550 lumens” but instead puts out around 450 lumens for 3 minutes then steps down to 336. and the 450 lumens is actually sustained quite well for those 3 minutes…
Thanks! The output drop on Turbo (using Eneloops) is perceivable during the first few minutes but it is at least gradual.
In the ceiling bounce test I just did I noticed some flickering in Turbo mode after ~5 mins on eneloops (some newish 1st gen and some 3rd gen) which I can’t reproduce using 14500. It may be the regulation to blame. I will contact Olight about it.
Well in the AA mode it’s acting as a boost circuit, in 14500 mode it’s acting as a regulator…the boost circuit might be getting warm and throttling back (thermal protection built into the IC)
I just got me a FandyFire C3 in…actually quite amazed at the light it puts out…but it’s only a single mode (might be time for a driver upgrade )
The fit and finish is nowhere near as nice as yours though
