Big discount today

The purple haze on the lens is the AR coating, we like that… It shouldnt give a purple tint to the light though. I havent noticed purple tinges in my AR coated lenses. I guess maybe if its too thick it might, if thats even possible.

But thanks for the comparo stuff, I was looking at a headlamp, and a Crelant might be it…

I also own the HC50. It’s much more durable looking than the Crelant, and it does have the red LEDs. It’s a great product in itself, but the Crelant does have better tint, a constant current circuit and the ramping which I personally like. The HC50 is also kind of heavy, which is why I swapped it out of my emergency bag and now it’s my around-the-house headlamp. I think the HC50 is built better, but the Crelant has a better driver and tint.

I ended up buying three of the CRELANT CH10 Cree XM-L2 with warm white tint for about $63 total. Bought them from Aliexpress. I bought three to get the volume discount, but I can give one to my son and one to my son-in-law. All three cost less than one HC90, but the $74 sale price for theHC90 was hard to pass up.

Looks like you have used tons of force,to break open the unit. Better to swap the wires?

Sent it back on 5/8/14 and I’m still waiting on them to receive the package. Who knows if they’ll ever get it or send me another one.

They insist you to send it back? Just prove that it is DOA through images or video. Why waste money on sending back damaged stuff?

I have had great experience with this seller and plan on ordering this to go with the two lights I received this week from them.Ordered on the 3rd of june, shipped on the 4th and received it on the 12th.

Shill post detected :cowboy_hat_face: Beware of this store.

Why?

No need for concern. I like this store also. Very good communications, price, and fast shipping. I’ve gotten 5 different Crelant lights from them so far.

It unscrewed rather easily. The head was glued, but it broke free easily. I was able to reattach the wire without trouble and it works great. I liked it so much, I got another one.

I don’t know, they asked me to. It was $12 to send it back. I showed them a picture of the internals with the frayed wires and apparently they’d like to waste more time and money by refunding my shipping and sending me another light. They asked me to send them the tracking number, but the tracking number ceases to work once it’s outside the US. I won’t be ordering from them again. I don’t want the headlamp anymore because I now have two other nice lights. It seems that several people had problems with this light out of the box, even in the small sample contained in this thread. I guess I should have just chalked it up to idiot tax and forgot about it.

There shipping is fast because they are using priority shipping, which is a good thing as they are free when you purchase multiple units.
Very good communication? I do not think so after speaking with them for number of occasions. Seem like more and more people having trouble with their orders.

Still no resolution on my return. I sent the light back on May 8th. I understand that I did business with someone overseas, but they should also have a better policy of resolving issues should they arise.

Is there low-voltage indicator / overdischarge protection build-in ?
What is the driver type ?
I would expect buck driver because of “Working voltage: 2.7V—8.5V DC” but I see no inductor…

Best wishes

Just wanted to follow up on my customer service issue. The item arrived back at my door two weeks ago, in the same box I sent it. The item was “refused” unopened. I followed the instructions on where to send it, took pictures to document that the address I put on the package and the one they sent me was the same. Since it is an apartment number and a name instead of the company- I will not post the pictures online. But I contacted them about the $30 I was out for the headlamp and the $12 shipping and they still have yet to respond even though I did it more than a week ago.

Avoid this company, if you want any type of customer service. It’s terrible, and I have a brick for a headlamp.

I have the crelant, found it well made, nice spot with useful flood, although some sort of diffuser would be good depending on what u use it for. quality seems as good as the nitecore nc90 I also have, although I have not taken either apart
can’t comment on seller, as can’t remember where I bought mine, good price though

Nitecore nc90 is nice, pure flood, find the slider switch the most practical solution on any headlight I have used, fast and easy to change light output, especially if your wearing gloves or covered in mud.
plus not possible for water to get through the switch
Bit over priced maybe compared to the crelant considering the quality of both, as least on the outside

I also have a convoy s2 + that I bought on the group buy on here(hope they do another, should have bought more than 2), fixed to my caving hat as a back up, I often find that better than both the above, just the right mix of flood and spot and huge amount of light

Am thinking of using the s2 or Three s2’s as my main light

Should add, when I got my nitecore nc90 I thought it was broken, put Samsung battery in and it went off like a disco, white/blue/red/green all flashing like mad and it wasn’t even switched on

Then I realised, flat top Samsung battery + magnet ,inside a headlight with a magnetic switch = disco lol.
changed to a non flat top Samsung battery, it then all worked perfectly

Any update on those ?
Is it really a CC driver ?

According to review @ swiatelka.pl (link) driver found in CH10 bought on Aliexpress (exact same driver as one seen on pictures posted by TexasToasted), is missing “buck” part of driver.
Therefore it does not support “2 X CR123A” (LED current is 3.2Amps (!) on 2 X CR123A (6V) vs. 1.7Amps on 18650 (4.2V)).

It seems that driver is based on pic12f629 which utilizes high frequency PWM to drive LED (via MOSFET), so it seems that it is not “constant-current circuit and output-luminance”…

Any comments on that?

Has anyone succeed in removing the switch?

I’m not sure how it is attached, maybe press fit?
