[26-AUG-2014] BLF Rules slightly updated [UPDATED 27-AUG-2014]

Excellent point. It’s always good to give the benefit of the doubt, especially in these difficult times. As a matter of fact, that’s why one of the BLF RULES is “Have fun.” BLF should be used for fun and recreation, I think we all have enough stress and rules and laws to follow in the outside world.

What no \®¥]¡°\||< cussing Well thats just**** great! And now I can’t tell someone Im going to ¡¡\° his\^|:!! too? (——- smiley face means I’m kidding lol

I like it here, admin hats off  The people here are pretty awesome!

I like your new rules!

Thanks again SB. :)

:D

I think you just found your new avatar! :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe you could put a little Kittie jersey on him, give him the distinction of being number 4….looks like he might need a constant reminder…

Edit: forgot the “I’m kidding!” smiley face

[Edit: 27-AUG-2014]
I also added some boilerplate text. It’s unfortunately necessary these days.

Maybe this thread should be stickied on the recent posts page but it seems unlikely that even this would prevent posticide.

Bump.

Maybe we need a ' Rants ' sub-forum that doesn't appear on the main page ...

A ’ Rants ’ sub-forum that doesn’t appear on the main page might be a good experiment. It might also serve as a place threads can be moved for “cool down”, threads that might look to be heading for deletion (but haven’t quite reach that point yet).

Food fight forum?

Talking about food we just had two greasy burgers and two bottles of water for $44.00 at LAX airport. Ouch and yuk.

I’ve known people who like extra greasy burgers. :~ I’d rather taste meat over grease.
You’re visiting usa MRsDNF?

Just leaving, thank you. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Too bad your trip couldn’t exit from SFO. :_(

Hmmmmm, a Rants subforum. Not a bad idea, and it would work in some scenarios. But the thing is, I don’t want to give the impression that nasty or provocative comments are acceptable anywhere on BLF, because they aren’t. If somebody is really fired up and starting to cross the line, they usually want their comments to appear on the front page, and I don’t think they would voluntarily use the Rants subforum. And then too I wonder how many users would actually enter the Rants subforum to read the rants. I really depend on the help of our users to moderate this forum, and more eyes is always a good thing. I wouldn’t want unsavory stuff to start festering under the cover of the Rants subforum. But I dunno.

On another topic, I know chain quoting can be fun but is there a way to limit the size of a quote or only quote pics the first time(after that it’s redundant)? People sometimes seem lazy about selecting only the targeted phrase for a quote, just as I’m sometimes lazy about quoting in a response.

This is definitely something to add to a “best practices for posting” thread. If someone could create one I’d gladly make it sticky. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s a software way to enforce this, however.

Was this related to the fenix light or the bribe part or both? I guess its nature for people to argue with other people for the sake of self interest or self satisfaction. Freedom of speech is good but is sometimes used to have the freedom of hurting people

Quoted for emphasis and quoted to be funny. I get lazy about quoting what I am replying to also, on this and other forums. That said, it absolutley drives me crazy when there are pages of requotes and pictures, over and over. It makes threads way too long, and makes them very hard to read on my piece of junk, obsolete Blackberry. quote=Rufusbduck]On another topic, I know chain quoting can be fun but is there a way to limit the size of a quote or only quote pics the first time(after that it’s redundant)?
