I live in Belgium and i was wondering if other Belgians here have experience with ordering from abroad and the taxes/customs that are charged. I'm already going over my budget so if their are extra costs on top of that ...

No problem with the customs.
If you are lucky, you don't have to pay any tax, just sign on the voucher for receipt.
If you are unlucky, you just have to pay 10 euro for custom declaration when the postman deliver your goods.
If the item cost 200 USD, or 50 USD, I always have to pay 10 Euro when the customs stick there nose in it
But most of the time I don't have to pay anything tax or whatever.
It seems a bit like playing poker, sometime (mostly in my case) you win, sometime you lose and have to pay 10 euro extra.
Mostly when you choose a secure shipment, with trackingnumber, you have a slightly better chance to pay your 10 euro, is my experience.
But still, it is a little bit like playing poker

The company i would order from told me they can just ship the item as if it was like 25$ so customs doesn't check it at all, so that would even be better, as i'm not a good poker player ;)

Don't order many things together, try to keep each package under 22 euro if possible. Most packages from China get through customs without any extra taxes, but if they add these taxes it can be very expensive. I had to pay 62,05 euro for a 119 dollar bikelight from DX. It took more than one month to get it processed (DSV AIR and SEA works very slow). And when it finally was processed by DSV, the Belgian Post made a misstake, they have sent it back to DX. After about 6 months the bikelight finally arrived here...
But if the company would send a 100$ item as if it was a 25$ item as they say they could do, that should deal with the 22 euro limit i think?
