IMO that is sneaky, he did not say that and it is a relevant thing with a new version available and already sold by BG! The new version has XP-G2, more output and a nice AR-coating on the lens, I think it is the better one. The only thing that is nicer about the old one is that it does not seem to use PWM on the low mode.
May I ask you where is the coupon? I looked over here but couldn’t find it.
I need to buy it whether from a person (not a store or company) or really cheap because of customs. Whenever I think I’ve found the 2 mode version it ends up being the newer 3 mode one.
Yep, that is sneaky if it indeed is the old model. I already bought one, hoping to get the new 3-mode version.
They also link to this review in their product description of the light - which leads people to believe that they might be getting the same light that is in the review.

I think that all of this stuff about old version vs. new version, and which one BG was “on sale” is the main reason I haven’t jumped on this. I am so confused at this point about this “deal”…

I read Djozz's review and was excuted to see neal put it up for sale ..I wanted 3 mode Ar/ lens and xpg-2 not and older emitter and two modes . Thats unfair to bait and switch . Damn I was excited about this light too ..Now depression is setting in .:(

I see they have a new version, rev3 with med-low-high :sick: (btw I don't believe the 138lumen on a Duracell AAA). I have had rev2 on my keychain for two years now, with a Nichia219A 92CRI and a 10440. It is still one of my favorite lights, although I prefer a clicky over a twisty light.

I just received Lumintop Tool AAA from the BG’s “daily deals” (sku 142686) and it is the new version with XP-G2 and 3 modes (same light that is reviewed in this thread). 
If someone is interested of legoing, the parts of this light seem to be compatible with Olight i3 and 4sevens Preon parts.
The Lumintop parts have slightly bigger outer diameter than the Olight and Preon, but it is hardly noticeable unless you look really closely. Lumintop head on Preon body needed tiny bit of tightening before it got electrical contact, so if tolerances change to the wrong way that combination might or might not work. Also Preon and Lumintop switches are not interchangeable.

my banggood lumintop tool ARRIVED!!! it is latest version with 3 mode (hi,med,lo), so i think it is the xp-g2 led.
it is powerfull!!! unfortunately on an eneloop lite aaa does not output so much lumens, but with a new alkaline the output is really nice….but i can’t quantify it.

i compared it to my tn12 2014 on med setting, rated 280 lumens by thrunite and estimated by selfbuilt review at 330 on med. ok………… THE LUMINTOP IS EQUAL BRIGHTER, also a bit brighter. not so much but a bit. maybe because the tint is maybe 5/10% colder than the tn12…. but it is still a NICE tint pure white ( no blueish).
i am really HAPPY! 300 lumens for sure!!! now i have to wait for the gearbest olight i3s.
tonight i will show the lumintop to my friends….initialli on LOW mode… to get all appreciations then i will do half click to switch back to HI mode ( it is hi,med,lo,hi,med,lo,hi………) and leave them STUNNED by 300 lumens in a tiny flashlight
NOT happy!!! I very precisely and clearly specified that I wanted the 2 mode version and received the 3 mode one. It still is a nice light but not what I wanted!!! 42 long days of expectation, all for the 3 mode Tool… :_( I don’t think is worth to send it back, so I guess I’ll have to look for a used 2 mode version. Sorry for the rant but I’m so disappointed.
Thanks for the review. Is 1.5 lumens considered moonlight? I wish it was below 0.5. It’s a must have imho for such a small light.
In your experience is there that much difference between 0.5 and 1.5 lumen. Maybe its all the 18hour work days, or the fact that I’m getting older. I like 3lumen or so for my moonlight mode.
Got a 3-mode clicky from BG this week. 3-mode (med-low-hi) ... noticeable PWM on med and low, but otherwise a really nice light.
