Great for extra heat sinking or to add height below the MCPCB for optics

Ok, so I’ve been asked about de doming the MTG2 …A LOT! So I’ve finally done it! If there’s interest I will probably be able to do some, however due to the price (these things are expensive!)I can not buy a lot of these!

As a rule of thumb, XML2 gives higher output but less throw, and XPG2 gives better throw but less output, XP-L gives similar output to XML2 but the size of XPG2.
What does the MT-G2 do when de-domed? Does it change the output and/or the throw? Also, is there a visible tint shift with the MT-G2’s that you have de-domed? If so, is it similar to the picture in your OP?

It has the same effect as when you de dome and XPG XML or XPL a slight loss in lumens (not noticible) but an increase in throw, the best way to describe a de domed MTG2 would be ‘highest output led but less throw than other emitters’ - due to die size
So if you want a maximum output but throwy light then the MTG2 is the way to go.
