Use one of the AA to D adapters with a AA dummy cell inserted and then just use 1 26650.
But if you are going to change to a Buck driver, then it doesnât matter.
Iâm gonna go out and try to find one tomorrow.
If it blows up, oh well, but doubt it will on one 26650 cell.
Later,
I see my Lowe's now has more holiday stuff out. The Utilitech #0569183 light is a 3C light with XM-L2 and advertised at 500 lumens and there is a Utilitech #05969178 3X XP-G2 light there as well. It takes, get this - 9XAA batteries in it. It is advertised as 1000 lumens. They are $29.97 and $39.97 respectively.
I also want that Lux Pro LP1200C with 6xAA and the half OP, half SMO reflector. It would be great with 6 Eneloops and an MT-G2 at 3 amps.
I bought a couple of the Lux Pro 2D lights and I happen to have some 41mm glass lenses, so these will get modded.
Remember this deal? Hammer, 25 foot tape measure, knife, pliers and cutters. Normally $12.95 on clearance for $3.60. Now they are $1.80, got 5.
This was what the clearance cart looked like. No price, I had to bring one up to get it price checked.
This one is NOT a good deal!!!
A set of 2 Dorcy clamp lights for 49.99
But look, from now until BF it is half price, 24.99. Letâs see what it uses for emitters
First the larger of the 2, then the smaller clamplight
The really sad thing is that they will probably sell thru, bought by people because they look like they would make a nice gift. Yeah, right.
Now some stocking stuffers.
and the pouchâs for the locking pliers that was clearanced a couple of months ago.
Old-Lumens-Thankyou for the heads-up on the new Utilitech lightâs I went to Lowes website and noticed they are having a half price off the two lightâs you mention.
I ordered two of the 500 lumen C battery xm-l2 flashlightâs as I do not own any that use this battery and I will let you all know what I think of them.
If they work out I will keep 1 and give the other as a Christmas gift if they donât work out then both go as Christmas giftâsâŚlol
But for $15.97 each it was to much to resist.
The 3X XP-G2 model is half price to so anyone interested itâs a good time IMO to get one.
WoahowahwoahâŚ$20? For that price its good for parts to stuff in the Defiant 650lm 3D I got last year. Its been sitting around without much of a purposeâŚ
What partâs did you need for your 650 lumen defiant?
Did some of the partâs break?
There were a couple of versionâs of the 650 lumen Defiant,I have a few of the XM-L2 650 lumen single mode Defiantâs as a well as a few of the current 600 lumen XM-L2 3-mode Defiantâs as well as some spare partâs.
Did you need some help with partâs?,maybe I can help let me know.
I couldnât believe it myself to see the 3X XP-G2 and XM-l2 3C lightâs going for under $20,here are the linkâs if they can help anyone:
I have never used Utilitech before or handled one because I do not live close to a loweâs so do not have the chance to go there often so my purchase of the 500 lumen model is a kind of an experiment to I do notice they offer a 1 year warranty compared to Defiant offering a lifetime warranty which speaking of Defiantâs lifetime warranty they have made good on this with me first-hand by just letting me take a whole new flashlight from a store I did not even buy the damaged light at (just thought Iâd point these thingâs out if it is an important concern to someone)
I missed the boat on the Defiant 3-up XP-G2 1000 lumen torch, but did get one of the good 3D-XM-L lights and have been looking for a way to give it some character, this is my solution.
Hey all I wanted to do a proper review of these lightâs but I am short on time and have no way to take pictures but this light is very nice and I am very impressed with it.
It is very comfortable to hold and carry and seemâs built well it has 3 modes Hi-Low-Blink-off no memory you can turn it off at any time by holding down the power button for about 2 secondâs.
The beam pattern remindâs me of the Trustfire X8 and clones beam profile but this light has a much larger and usable hotspot the low mode workâs great around the house and the hi mode workâs great outside about as far as I am able to shine around my home at this time is 100 yardâs and it makes it out the far fairly easy as there were some deer out feeding and I could see them clearly at this distance.
The width of the reflector is about 25% larger than the Trustfire X8 and the overall beam size including flood is about 25% larger also. The hotspot is very impressive and is perfectly round and larger then any XML light I have seen or used and keepâs itâs intensity very well at farther distances this could be due to the reflector design as the lower 10â20 closest to the LED is Orange Peel then it moves into a smooth texture I am not sure but this maybe why it seemâs in the beam profile the brakes were put on the flood keeping it in more to make what flood is there brighter and the hotspot very bright.
I keep comparing to the trustfire X8âs beam pattern as this is a light I own and the beam pattern remindâs me of it the most with the exception of the hotspot being much larger on this new light, the Trustfire X8 has an STL-V6 driver in it and this Utilitech actualy is a little brighter and throwâs farther.
I only had the chance to use the light for a little less then an hour but it sure is a pleasure to use for itâs comfort, size and very usable beam the lumenâs are rated at 500 but this light to me seemâs to surpass this number.
A light I think some of you might be wondering how this compares to is the Home Depot XM-L2 lightâs and this little guy (little compared to the 3D DefiantâsâŚlol) compares very well and actualy has a similar brightness but actualy I would rather use the Utilitech for basic around the yard and stuff then the defiantâs but if I had to have a light to throw the beam realy far Iâd reach for the defiantâŚ.the defiant XMLâs from the last 3 yearâs IMO throw very well for a store bought light but so much of the intensity is in the corona of the beam helping it throw farther but the wider hotspot of the Utilitech just comes more handy IMO for basic functionâs.
For this sale price itâs a no brainer if you have the fundâs Iâd pick one or more up if for anything to have a C battery flashlight on hand as thatâs the only battery on the shelf when a catastrophy hitâs and also because itâs just a nice light to have around and just the right size for a lot of different reasonâsâŚIâd even buy one at full price but at half price at just a little over $15 itâs a steal.
Just wanted to let you all know I ordered a few more of these as Christmas giftâs for the family and two of the three flashlightâs I ordered had XML-T6 ledâs and one had an XM-L2 led.
I guess for those of you that live close to a loweâs you can peek and see what Led it has but for those of you who order like I did just be aware of this in this productâ>
Iâm about a little over an hour away from a lowes and I am contemplating doing that but I just did a beam shot comparison and there realy isnât much difference indicating this flashlight isnât driving the led very hard none of the family memberâs that are receiving them know anything about flashlightâs two of them just have halogen bulb maglites and my grandparentâs still have a silver metal flashlight that uses a bulb that lookâs like it came from the 1950âsâŚlol,so they will all be impressed as is so Iâm just not sure at this point.
Guess Loweâs was angry I bought the lightâs at close to half off then slapped a 10% coupon code on top of it using a trick, here is a post about this trick in case you all want to try it it realy does work was able to make it work for me a couple of times to get coupon codesâ>
On Black Friday I got an email from Lowes about a $14.98 deal on this Direct Drive ratchet wrench and sockets. Regular price is $29.98. Well, with everything else going on that day it went right over my head. Sometime later when I thought of it I checked it out.
As some of you may know, there are coarse toothed ratchets and fine tooth ratchets. Of the 2, fine tooth ratchets are usually preferred as they allow the wrench to ratchet with less backward motion to engage the next tooth. This âDirect Driveâ wrench in effect has infinitely small teeth to alow ratcheting in tighter spaces. IF it works, this could be a very useful tool.
I have been watching the display since BF and the have NOT been selling, At All! They were reduced to $19.98 and still they didnât sell. Now I see that they are at $9.98 so I picked 1 up to play with.
Yes, in âeffectâ but thereâs no teeth or paw used. If there were, theyâd be so fine, that theyâd fail under load. It uses a one-way clutch like in most motorcycle starters (spring-loaded rollers on ramps). If you donât have one, get it.
Great deal alert dchomak. I use ratchets probably more than any other tool. All mine are the old style with standard teeth. Really like this direct-drive concept.
Unfortunately, those don't appear to be in the stores around me.
Between this and the HD thread you cost me a lot of money dchomak hahah.
I picked up 3 of the ratchet sets. One to play around with and two to fill in for nephews Christmas gifts, their flashlights are staying with me instead haha.
You know itâs funny, I know I said I picked up 1 to play with. I lied! I also picked up 3, one for me, one for MY nephew and one for a friend. The really funny thing is that when I went to check out the cashier asked me âwhy is it everyone buys three of these?â
