New 105D. replacing Nanjg-105c @ FT? (no stars!)

Agree… I use the stars for eSwitch and 2nd PWM for FET (in a hybrid FET+7135s Nanjg driver), especially during developing the firmware (this leaves the MCU pins free for the soic test clip). When the driver is being deployed/installed, depends on which side of the driver board I want the wires to be connected to, sometimes I just soldered them directly to the MCU pins.

wight, can you please make a macro pics for both sides of this driver?

I just did a Google search for Nanjg 105d drivers and couldn’t find any. So, I went to the FT website and used their search to find it. It doesn’t exist. All of their 105’s are listed as 105c. Is this 105d an actual thing or did someone make this custom and slip it in on us? I’d like to know if it can be bought (on purpose) anywhere, and whether the price is cheaper or if it’s just that it’s easier to use these with retaining rings like wight said.

Exactly what I thought. I also have some on order…

I can take better pictures, but is there a reason to? This one is already detailed. The other side looks just like a 105c, I will post a picture of that if it’s somehow helpful. What, specifically, do you need?

IMO you should not expect to find a cheaper 8x7135+ATtiny13A driver than the ones on FT, at least in the quantity you are talking about. I think it’s fair to assume that the cost to manufacture this 105D. driver is not significantly different from the cost to manufacture a 105c. My assumption is that FT had the option to order a driver with “improved fitment” and took it without realizing the downside.

For me - yes. Would appreciate it a lot
I sometimes do quite heavy modifications to the 105C, with lots of trace cutting and rearranging, so I’d like to know if I can do all this to 105D.

Good pics of both sides, perpendicular to the PCB plane. Something similar to the original FT driver pics from their product page. IC markings, traces, all that stuff.

IC markings are the same. I checked. I did not check resistor values or the Vf of the diode.

I will strip one soon, how about I just take pictures of the bare PCB after it’s stripped?

Suits me perfectly, thanks!

105D Hopefully it is good. I just stocked up 5 pieces last week.

Unfortunately they never update it with 4 modes like Qlite.

That’s what I thought, but I still wonder if this is something that will be sold on its own merits (sold as Nanjg 105d) or if it is just being slipped in to the place of the 105c.

Good question, I wonder the same thing.

Crap, just noticed I got the same ones last week. I wanted to use the stars for OTCs… propobly gonna strip them for parts now.

Didn’t even notice that time, I’ve ordered them on 11.11. (105c 2 Group 2,8A)

Edit: My Convoy M2 I got today from FT has the same driver inside. I’d realy like to get my solder points back where they belong.

Created a ticket at FT, maybe they’ll sort it out.

Simon should know about these drivers then.

FYI, have manged to get a 5$ gift card (had 5 pcs).
Okay for me so far, didn’t want to spend any more time on this.

Don’t know what I’ll use the drives for, except it will most likely be in a flashlight.

Thanks for the info, Simon!
Is it 2-group (3/5 modes), like before?

yes ,the stars is useless ,so i removed them
and of course i also have four groups version (with stars)

So, the 105d is YOUR design? Are they for sale anywhere alone?

Nice! Though I do prefer the old way of soldering star than the updated 2 group version. The way it flashes once on low in three mode, always distracting.

I agree. I strongly dislike the blink/flash - it is startling.
