ThruNite Neutron 2A v2 (1xAA/14500/2xAA)XM-L2 REVIEW

So it can still hold 1 hour on High at about 200 lumens, not bad I think..

Can the 2C V2 work with 1 NiMH using the extension tube and a spacer?

Good Day FlashLion,

Great review....

You said re Turbo Mode: "Due to the high current in this Mode is recommended using a IMR/high current draw compatible battery."

Could You Please give us Turbo Mode's current draw (Amps) when using single (one) AA & 14500 batteries?

Thank You Very Much,

George

Thank you all for the comments!

Actually, the first thing I tried to measure when received this flashlight was the current on Turbo mode with a NiMH battery.
But,it’s somehow hard to hold the battery and the DMM leads and to press quickly twice the switch to activate Turbo.
I will try again later today.

At like $40
Good luck with that, I know, I can dream though.

Light really looks well thought out.
Thanks for yet another great review.

Thank you for the review. That is impressive output even if it is "only" for 4 minutes at a time. Well done!

And really nice review. You do excellent pictures and technical descriptions and I like your down to earth comments about how it handles and works in daily life too. TY :-D

superb review!

thanks for your work

Glad to see the king (Zebralight) has now been dethroned. But sadly not available anywhere!

Listed on Amazon but currently out of stock.

Listed on many sites but not available anywhere

Just got it from HKequipment. High quality box. The light has good build - not as polished as Zebralight but quite good. The switch is a bit small but provides good tactile feeling. The output is amazing. The size is significantly bigger than Zebralight - must be to handle the heat from such a monster output.

Enjoy it! 8)

AVOID THIS COMPANY!

I bought a Neutron with my credit card and they never sent it to me. I tried emailing them and they said it was shipped, but it never arrived. Now it’s too late to dispute it and they are ignoring me. Can anyone help?

Nice first post sparkles. Your post can be taken more than one way.

If your not happy with the company why trash this thread when you could start your own and put more detail in it?

A lot of companies have a disclaimer stating that their responsibility ends once the item has shipped unless you pay extra for insurance, if even offered. Even if insurance is not offered they may deny any responsibility after the item is shipped. Why I always pay for tracking and prefer to buy using Paypal or Amazon.

If you waited longer than the dispute window you’re at their mercy. Keep track of your dispute windows!

Back somewhat on topic… Anyone know if Thrunite ever got their QC issues resolved with the 2A V2? I’d still love to grab one of these, but reports of high standby drain really killed the deal for me.

I can’t answer whether the issues have been addressed or not, but I have owned one of these since the beginning and it works great on a single 14500. Which is great since this is how i run it.

However, it is very temperamental if it has to run on any combination of AA or Eneloop to the point of not working at all. Adding insult to injury, the switch is difficult to find in the dark.

The 2Av2 can be used in 1xAA or 2xAA configuration.
Working Voltage: 0.9-5V

so it could be used with 1x 14500
