Red S2+ flashlight ,for girls, for your lover

It seems like the OD of the steel cap is smaller than the rubber…

yes ,i will add it tomorrow

sorry ,can not be changed

why?

the stainless steel ring is stuck

Cool, cool, cool. Perfect gift for those who need it.
But I would like to buy such version of S3, it has more floody light (right?). Girls don’t need throwers, do they?

I tested yesterday my brand-new convoy s2+ as a helmet light while skating. Absolutely impressed with the performance of this little thing and, as a newcomer to the world of quality lights, delighted by the T6-4C tint - from now on, I won’t be able to stand flashing ultrawhite lights that blind and blur the tracks. I don’t know about the s3, but s2+ is the opposite to a thrower light, as a matter of fact I would describe it as an almost perfect flooder producing a quite uniform spill with practically no evident hotspot. My only con would be that a protected 3400 ah panasonic fits very tightly (I need to unscrew both head and tail and push it out, not really a problem).

I want a red S2+ host available for a triple XP-L mod. Offer that and I'm in like Flynn!

Iker… if it interferes on the diameter, you can probably just peel off the label.

hmmmm there is no label, just a clear wrap and if removed the side protection circuit stays exposed. I think I’ll keep pushing them, it is not too bad

It turns out that my words that S3 has more floody light applies only to S3/S2 comparison, but not S3/S2+ comparison. They said, that S2+ is more floody than S2:

And I found out S2+ and S3 have the same reflectors. So I can’t find any real difference between S2+ and S3 for now (except S3 has unscrewing bezel). Does anybody know the difference?

I think S3 with the stainless steel bezel is the big difference.

Thank you for the clarification. I still might buy one and try to press out the stainless steel ring. I guess I’d also need to bore our the diameter of the switch hole to make room for a “normal” 16mm boot.

That would be problematic. I certainly don’t need stuck batteries on an every day basis. I wonder if Convoy knows about this or if it is prevalent in this model or build.

Is this the red S2+ being offered here or one you already had?

It sounds like Iker has one of those double-wrapped batteries: Panasonic’s wrap, then a strip to connect the protection PCB to BAT+, then another, clear wrap. Some protected cells simply have the bare cell, a strip insulated with Kapton tape and then a single outer wrap.

Yes, the batteries are as wight describes, panasonic NCR18650B which are among the largest 18650 out there with 18.4 mm diameter. Nightspy, this is not the red 2+ presented here but a grey one received from fastech 2 days ago. Probably identical in diameter though but this should be confirmed. It is really not that big of a deal, just that the battery does not slip out by itself but needs a little pushing. The convoy is not to be blamed, these batteries are a tight fit in other devices as well, including a convoy m2 which is much larger than the s2+.

I think all my Pannies are double wrapped but none have gotten stuck in flashlight tubes. My Callie’s Customs came with very think labels, so they came off immediately; my KeepPower labels started fraying, but still fit and come out easily. My XTAR 2600 cells are probably the tightest of them all, and even these tolerate labels. I am pretty sure these are all double wrapped.

I guess the worst case is when a label is put on a double wrap over the protection lead.

I might just have to order this light and see for myself. Not too much trouble to chuck it up in the lathe if it turns out to be on the smallish side.

Anyway, back to ordering this purdy lite.

+1 for all above.

And one in noble British Racing Green, please.

Yours has a green boot, right? I believe that is the old version fwiw. I don’t see the new S2+ on FT’s site.
