Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Yep, you figured it out.
I just hope someone else hasn’t already picked through them.

Almost any other brand of 18V drill pack battery costs a least $100 for a single pack. An 18V pack uses 5 18650’s to reach 18V (21V). A double pack uses 10 cells in a 5S2P configuration. At the start of the Black Friday sales, Ryobi came out with a 4Ah pack and the deal was buy one for $99 and get a second pack for free. That was quite a deal at the time. I bought one of those then and sold off 1 of the 2 packs to a friend and gave the second one to a neighbor friend who looks after our house when we are away.
Since that time I have watched that deal go from $99 to $89 to $84 and now to $75! The HD’s I have been in still have cases of these batteries. 2 packs of 10 cells each is 20 cells and at just $75 that works out to only $3.75 a cell if one were to harvest them. All other Ryobi packs that I have taken apart recently have Samsung cells, I am thinking these probably have the 20R’s in them.

As of 01/09/2015 these batteries on the clearance spiral. Next price reduction will end with a “6”. When that will be I can’t guess. They probably won’t last that long, this is a hot price as is.

That would be the best score yet

I saw the same [Ryobi] prices today in my local HD, which typically only does the biggest corporate blowouts.

I was in HD this morning and ran into the guy that changes the prices. He saw my cart full of Christmas tree stands that I had picked up at the front entrance at $1 each and asked if I had seen Gerber Tool. I had, they were marked down from $20 to $5. He told me that he had one and the manager of the store bought one also at that price. Since I know nothing of knives I had passed, but based on what he said and the fact that the manager bought one I picked one up.

Here are the Christmas tree stands, I will try using them for patio umbrella stands next spring. Not quite what they are intended for, but those patio umbrella stands are usually $30! For $1 what have I got to loose, besides the 5 eye hooks that come with it worth several dollars by themselves

Air tool connectors, and gauge and parts, heck the plastic case alone is worth $2.

Also 3- 50’ air hose for $5
That is 3 separate 50’ air hoses for $5!

Once again, to be clear, this is a pack of 3, 50’ air hoses for $5.

dchomak, I’ve gotta start shopping at your store. I was tempted by the hoses at $20. $5 is ridiculous. And the air accessory kit for nearly nothing is sweet too.

Man, those are some good deals. All of the items in your last 2 posts are still full price at my HD's. I'll be keeping an eye out though. Thanks for the alerts.

The 4 stores I have visited did not have any good deals… :_(

I was interested in that 6” grinder

I was tempted when they were $10.04!

Did you check today? I was there when they were being changed! Be patient, “these deals will soon be at a store near you”

BTW, I had a long talk with the price changing guy. He’s the same guy that grabbed the rest of the VGA to HDMI adapters when I jammed the self checkout scanner. I first spoke to him that day, just after he took the other 4 down. It seems that he was NOT instructed to take them down just after I went thru the checkout, he was already enroute as part of his daily tasks. I was just lucky to get the 1 that I did at that store.
We also talked about the deals and he says that those Ryobi 4AH drill packs will go to $50.06 in a few weeks! He told me that the “6” price is usually 50% of the original price and the “3” price is half of that or 75% off. He confirmed that after that, they go to a penny and are pulled.
I also asked him about items going on clearance, getting cleared out and then coming back at full price. He told me that sometimes when they are cleared out, they go to the manufacturer, are repackaged and then sent back. Sometimes they go to other stores, that could explain why bulbs that I have seen cleared out in CT are still full price in MA. Also it could explain why that bulb you bought for a penny in SC is $28 here.
The BEST news is that he and I are now friends. He told me to just come up to him and ask him what’s a good deal. Of course, penny deals are not to be a topic. Those I will have to continue to ferret out for myself.

HomeDepot in Canada just dropped the Defiant 150 Lumen 2-pack LED headlights from $19.99 down to $3.66 today.

- i grabbed the last two i seen form one store for that price.

These have 1-mode, use three AAA cells, electronic switch, and use the tiny CREE XB-D emitter in typical cool white. a plastic body and aluminum bezel, top switch, and adjustable head strap.

The plastic reflector is quite throwy with the stock XB-D, and the Amp draw on the cells is 0.65 amps. ( the package claimed 10 hours run time, but at that draw the AAA Defiant cells it came with will give a maximum of 1 - 1.5 hours average.

I quickly modded one of them with a re-flowed Nichia 119 emitter on the XB-D star, ( after modifying the star to accommodate the center padless 119)
i also resistored the driver back with a 7.5 ohm 1/2 watt to increase run time. Now its a much better tint with the 119, and runs for 4 - 5 hours on basic alkaline cells.

Do you have a sku number on those? (better yet take a pic of the upc on the back)

UPC number is: 943777 200676 , oddly i could not find it on the HD website…

thats what i hate about HD, they sell many items not on the website, but you can use the HD android app and it will have them, checking now

are there small numbers on the sides, its not coming up

If you can post a pic the app can scan it, its kinda fun running around the house and scanning random objects

like this ?

None at my local store, but it did scan

I just checked the pictures of the BF deals in post 128 and 136 but this combo pack is not there. I’ll check my store later today. Maybe it’s just a Canada thing?
No, can’t think like that! I must enter the store with positive energy.

Is there a US home depot app?

The is, and when I use it to scan that bar code it comes back with “Oooops”
That means it doesn’t know what it is.
Right now I am in a coffee shop and when I use it to scan a retail box of coffee, it returns that same “Oooops”
