We have a major storm on itâs way.
I was just in HD and EVERY flashlight in the store is up front being sold. They are already out of batteries. People are even buying the headlamps to be used as a flashlight.
What this means is that the BF and Christmas flashlights will not be around long enough to go on blow out prices 
The guy in front of me at the checkout was buying a Ryobi 18v drill because he was also buying the 18v lantern light that will run on the Li-ion pack.
Oh well, maybe next year.
Sorry to hear that. They tend to sell out down here even without storms. Please take care riding out this storm. Sounds like it's going to be a big one.
Cheer up, maybe they will come out with another super thrower this year in a D cell. You never know, but sometimes dreams come true.

I was in a diner this morning, one that I do not frequent, and we all were talking about the coming storm. Suddenly the waitress exclaimed âwell Iâm all set, got an awesome flashlight off Amazonâ Of course I perked right up and asked what kind. She said itâs got everything, itâs solar powered, has a hand crank, radio and can even charge up a cell phone.
Yep, sheâs all set.
I showed everyone my edc, aâ68. They were all amazed, no one ever saw a zoomie before

I still have several of the DST and the 3D Defiants from last year.

BTW, a couple of days ago I scored 6 of a storage container a little LARGER than those 106 quart blue tops that were $4 each. I was in the store rummaging around for some more of the blue tops when I came across 6 - HDX red tops that were not in the system. I ran into the manager whom I had just met the day before and pointed them out to him. As he scanned them with his scanner and did some checking, I offered him $2 a piece. Here rejected that offer and gave them to me for FREE!
Unfortunately I canât prove this as I didnât get a receipt. He escorted me OUT of the building with them.

The blue tops are in the attic, here is a new 3D kitty maze made up of the red tops. These are 120 quart size the blue tops were 106 quart.
I still have several of the Defiant 650 3Dâs. These seem to have been the last of the well made HD/Lowes flashlights. The new replacement models have taken a steep decline in quality⌠such a disappointment.
I was visiting my local HD stores several months ago when you were posting all the Ecosmart LED bulb deals. After discovering that nearly all the âclearance dealsâ among 5 stores in my area were grossly overpriced, I pretty much gave up. During one visit, I sighted a worker wearing an orange apron pushing a cart stuffed full of LED Ecosmart bulbs. I asked him if they were on sale and if I could buy some. His specific comment to me was that HD was a shit-hole of a store that would rather throw away copious amounts of great dead stock merchandise than donate it, or reduce the price more than 5-10% for others to purchase to clear them out. That huge shopping cart full of bulbs was on its way to the crusher, just like so many other useful items that they destroyed.
Store policies are set by region, but some of them are so poorly managed that it makes my head spin. Im glad to see that many others have been able to capitalize on the penny sales strategies and make use of these great deals. Keep up the good work and keep posting!
Were you able to convince him to give you any of those?
We asked the store manager. He was very polite and apologized that there was nothing that he could do. I did argue the point that other stores were able to profit by discounting sales on items slated for return or disposal while increasing customer traffic through their stores for ancillary sales. Im sure heâs heard it all a million times and was very happy to go back and hide in his office.

The high (93) CRI Cree bulbs that JonnyC alerted us to (post 226) have seen another price reduction. The 60w equiv has been reduced from 7.46 to 4.03. I noticed the 40w reduced to 3.53 but brought one of both up to scan. This store only had 3 0f the 60w which I bought.
If anyone wants these high CRI Cree bulbs, Iâm afraid you better act quickly. I am pretty sure these clearance prices will be found in most HDâs. JonnyC who first alerted us to them is in Wisconsin. His initial deal alert had them at $7.50. They have since gone to $7.46 (ends with a â6â, which means they would be reduced to a â3â price) and now to $4.03. I have seen them offered at all HDâs that I have been in lately in multiple States. I am presuming that this clearance is universal in scope, and if your HD has any left, they will now be $4.03. This is regardless if your HD is doing subsidies or not. Another pic from my hometown HD. At that store I grabbed the last 8 - 60W equivalent they had.

The Cree bulbs are mysteriously absent from the shelves at my local HD where they have been sitting for the past two months in the clearance sectionâŚ
There is however a large display of the ânewâ Cree bulbs (which look identical but are packaged just slightly different) right as you walk in the front door

Hmm . . . stopped in my Home Depot this morning and I couldn't find any trace of the clearance bulbs either. I had spotted them about a week or 2 ago at the previous price reduction.

The same day I picked up the high CRI bulbs, I also lucked out and got some more of the penny night lights. They they were on the shelf, a full card of them BEHIND the card in front with the $10 ones. That is the same store I found 3 hanging on the post mixed in with the $10 ones earlier. I donât know how I missed that full card of them the first time.
I also found 2 more of the âBlue Topâ 106 quart storage containers mixed in with the âWhite Topsâ There were no more blue lids, so I grabbed 2 of the white ones. Remember itâs the sticker on the tub that sets the price.
I also grabbed 2 of the 40w Cree high CRI bulbs for 3.53 each and brought everything up to the self checkout. As I rolled the cart up to the checkout I made eye contact with the checkout girl. As she headed toward me I quickly scanned the 5 penny lights and the 2 Creeâs as I knew why she was heading over!
Not to challenge the penny scans, because I was scanning them as she came over. She noticed the huge storage containers in the cart and knew she would have to scan them with her hand scanner, they are too big to pass over the shelf checkout scanner. She scanned both right in the cart were they sat and I was shocked to see that they didnât scan at 4.54 like the others
They scanned at $2.32, they had been reduced even further!
I brought them out and realized I needed to use their restroom, on the way to the back of the store I passed another display with one of the penny nightlights on it. There it is on the bottom. That is the same pole I found 3 two weeks ago. That one wasnât there then.
At my local HD today they had the Gerber multitool that sold for$20 at christmas for$5.20 and Also had some HD brand air die grinders cut off tools and touch up spray guns for $7.50 â I tried the die grinder has pretty good power (better than a dremel) and Iâm hoping the spray gun is at least good for primer
My HD has the 60W creeâs for $9.99 still.
They have a ton left, wonder why.
No other deals except an 8-pack of multi-LED flashlights with 24 heavy-duty AAAâs for $5.04 I believe.
Had to pick those up for the kids to play with in their fort or campingâŚAnywhere they can be easily lost.
The deal at 4.03 is not for the regular 60w Cree, it is for the 93 CRI 60w Cree. They were regularly 15.97 each. The stores were never heavily stocked for that version because at 15.97 each and high CRI they were not mainstream.
8 flashlights AND cells for 5.04 is great and itâs good you were able to supply your needs at that price. I believe if they do not sell out at that price, they will be reduced to 2.52 in the near future. If you can, you could check back, and if they are still available take one up to scan. Even if the marked price is the same, they could ring up for 2.52
