Olight M20SX Javelot

And you’re not going to buy a javelot to use on low, it’s meant for some extra throw. And it may just be my m20sx javelot, but I have no ugly green tint on mine. So it depends on the LED.

Sorry, I edited my post and it makes your post not make much sense.
I carry my TX25C2vn PDTc Fiat Lux with me at work, but she’s very safe in my pocket!

Would you tell me more detail for fiat lux?
I’ve wondered for Vin’s PDT (Premium Dedome Tint) is real good compare with non dedome led.

I will add that my m2x-ut javelot does have ugly greenish tint on low and some on medium, but on high (the only mode I use) it’s fine.

In regards to fiat lux, it’s what he considers the best of a batch he makes that has many different qualities that make it the best possible tint etc of the bunch. You can’t tell him to make you a fiat lux, you just sometimes luck out and get one, or you buy a used one from someone.

That is exactly the reason why I did not buy it.

Dedome makes tint greenish, the PDT makes the tint neutral or cool depending on your preference. All of his lights now that are dedomed get PDT.
Mine is a Fiat Lux due to the super focused hot spot and brightness being among the best of the batch he made, and it also has Fiat Lux and V54 engravings. A very beautiful little light for my pocket and throws very well.

That^

Yes, on low, and somewhat on medium. If you use an m2x-ut javelot for its low setting, you’re missing the point. It’s a thrower, not well rounded edc.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Below are several. In all modes and in comparison with other throwers. Pictures are courtesy of FlashLion.

From my point of view, Olight M2X-UT is a great thrower but this is only version 1.0 and it has an ugly green tint in all modes. This is especially evident in comparison with other throwers as you see from the pictures below. When the manufacturer does not specify the tint bin of the LED in its flashlight as Olight did with Javelot, most of the time it is because there is nothing to boast about in that department.

Also notice in the pictures below how much light M2X-UT wastes by spilling the light at your feet rather than throwing it at a distance. Notice the beautiful narrow beam pattern of ThruNite TN32 in comparison with the ugly spilled beam of Olight M2X-UT.

M2X-UT problems in version 1.0 could be easily fixed by:

  1. selecting a LED with fewer lumens but better tint
  2. redesigning the reflector not to spill the beam but focus it to be thrown farther

The redesigned reflector would more that compensate for the lost lumens in the better tint LED and would most likely increase the throw of this great de-domed flashlight concept.

I still want to buy M2X-UT but not until Olight fixes both the ugly green tint and redesigns the reflector for better beam pattern in version 2 or later.

Damn. Well I must have won the tint lottery because mine is nowhere near as bad as that.

I am happy you did, Sarge930. I hate to hear a person buy something only to be disappointed in the purchase later.

Let’s play which one is the Vinh light dedomed and which one is the m2x-ut javelot dedome…

And I messed with the distances so don’t judge it by beam size, just color, because one is closer and one is far

The left one is M2X-UT, the right one is Vinh’s

You got it, sir.

Anyone actually happy with the tint in their Javelot? Man, I really want this light, but green is just...blah!

I had two of them. One was perfect and the other had a slight slight slight green tint but nothing like what other people had

Hello Sarge! That would be me! I qualify for selling you a M25C2vn Fiat Lux!!!

My M2X was not that bad of a tint. I sent it to Vinh to improve the tint but mostly to make it ~ 300Kcd compared to stock version 164Kcd.

Don’t really see much difference of spill b/w the TN32 and M2X. In any event, “What is wrong with some spill at your feet?” I use ALL my high powered modded throwers to walk my Husky!! Spill at ones feet is a good thing!

It is the same reflector as my M3X which puts out a decent amount of light[spill/throw] both peripheral and a down range for throw.

Yes, a picture CAN be worth a Thousand words, a Picture can also “ALTER” the real life tint of a flashlights beam! By no means is the M2X A “Coolish” type of tint,it is domeless. On the other hand,In REAL life my M2X in STOCK form did NOT look nearly that Green. Furthermore my TN32 looked much more cooler than the photos reveal!

s. I don’t see you buying this light. Olight is NOT going to change the reflector for You or anyone else, with good reason,it works fine!

Can't stand it anymore. Am just going to buy it.
