L2 body and drop in is it bad

I bought a solorforce XM-L 5 mode drop in for L2 body but the led is really dim

what does this mean is it bad do I got to send it back to solarforce

What is the voltage range for the drop-in?

This is the L2 body http://lightake.com/detail.do/sku.L2_Flashlight_Body_Tube_with_Extension_Tube_Silver-30640

Are you using 2 x 18650 in the longer body?

The voltage range on the drop-in linked is 3V-6V - that means ONE Li-Ion rechargeable, or TWO primary CR123s.

Try the drop-in without the extension (and ONE battery) and see if it works.

I tried 1 18650 and 2 cr123a

High looks like med

Med looks like low

Low you can hardly see

Try bypassing the switch by connecting a wire from the bottom of the battery to the body.

If it is brighter, then you have a resistance issue with the switch/tailcap.

If not, start the return process, or check the soldering to the LED. :)

Make sure everything is tight especially the tail cap, and make sure that your batts are charged up.

@Chicago X what kind of wire

use a paper clip if need be.....

You can use anything on the thick side...sometimes I use a voltmeter probe, key, etc...

You just need to (carefully) bridge the small gap between the bottom of the cell and the edge of the flashlight body

with a paper clip and its still dim....so the led is bad right

Without a second thought send them an email regarding it.....and see what they can do.

with solarforce first they sent My MPP1 with a bad switch and now a bad led

anywere else were I can get another led for this L2 body.... Im done with solarforce

I like to get my stuff from here.....chat with the owner all the time and i like that it is based in Tx.....hate the long waits, might be pricier but when something like this happens at least you will know you can call him or chat with him day or night.

I don't like long waits.....thanks

If you have AIM he is on right now to answer any questions you might have........

drop in's for L2 body..... got a link

Sorry forgot to post the link..... http://www.sbflashlights.com/

just for kicks try it without the body an then without the reflector

connect one battery directly to the led , watch ur eyes

i hope you didnt use ( 2 ) 3.7+ volts ...

SFS is good with cust service , but seen a couple bad units here n there lately . i recently got a bad switch which they replaced immediately

could try 4 1.5 V batts = 6v , 6 vs 3.x is a bit of a difference , may be a good test
