Australia Based Deals / Info / Links / Discussion

Bought two, cheap enough to crack one open to see what is inside … perhaps unless it works well. $6 shipping … still a good deal

edit: damn, didn’t realise there was a white version too.

I kept one, gave one to my son. Good luck on the tear down if it happens, dont forget to post pics.

Yeah, theres a white one. Better late than neve… oh wait, probably not.

I got both boosters delivered now. They are solid. Well worth the $10. First attempt at trying to crack one open, it is sealed pretty well. Damaged the corner trying to get a wedge in. Not sure if I’m going to keep trying as I do like it. It is on par with sealed laptop battery packs in terms of being glued tight.

I put it on Qi charging pad and voila! It charges!

I’ve tried charging a phone and charging the booster at the same time. The wall charger is only rated for 1.2 A max, infact it is the charger for a N900, which I’m charging at the other end from the booster and it pulls 500mA during a charge (edit, the N900 reports that it is a wall charger so max rate). I don’t know what the booster is doing when it is plugged into the wall and charging another device but the green light turned to a yellow light during the process. I think when you have it plugged into charge another device, the booster stops charging from the wall

will play around with it more but it makes me want to look for a good USB light, maybe the xtar u1

Sounds good. I'll pick one up next time.

Damn, do I or don’t I? The two I have are great I have to admit. One permanently has an Ikea USB light on it and is used as a bedside light, the other, I’ve used it it once to top up my phone.

The Bahco 2444 is the only exclusive Australian knife posted but the 2449 and Hultafors are as cheap as I’ve seen available in Australia.

I’ve owned the Hultafors Heavy Duty knife for a long time and its my favourite work knife since.

The Bahco 2444 is made by Mora in Sweden, the 2449 is made in Taiwan but all Bahco tools have a lifetime warranty. The wrecking knife states on the packaging you can use a hammer to hit the spine to cut into things. Also interestingly Snap-On owns Bahco and the knives come in “Snap-On Industrial Tools” packaging.

I have purchased the 2444 and 2449 but they haven’t arrived yet.

It's $5. I haven't got one myself, but it doesn't look too bad. Plus, it's powered by easy to find AA cells. The only downside is that I can't pick them up. Delivery cost (tried 2 of them at checkout) was $7.95. For me, it seems that ordering 5 maxes the delivery cost to $11.95.

With the delivery cost, it's $8.90 each (for 2).

No store has stock my side of town either.

Nice find

Looks a good deal, but closest to me where it’s available is a fair drive (15km). I don’t have the time to drive by this weekend.

The 2444 is available here in NZ at Bunnings among others for as little as $8. I believe they are a rebranded Mora Companion F. Great knifes for the price.

Woolies has 4 packs of Energizer Lithium AA and AAA for $15. Usually $21, and I rarely find these on sale anywhere. Sale likely ends tomorrow (Tuesday) as new sales usually come out on Wednesdays.

Bought a set to keep spares in my truck.

Thats a really good price, Bunnings in Aus doesn’t have any Bahco products.

They are a rebranded mora companion actually,u are correct!
