LED-DNA

Some have bad experinece and some good and all with the same seller. I have bad experience. I’d say it looks suspicious enough to make you think twice about ordering from such sellers.

Still waiting to get my 4 XHP 50… website showed it shipped

I have 2 orders, one on march 7 and the other on march 9 both show as shipped, hope they get here soon. Fingers crossed…

I just placed an order Friday and it shows ready to be shipped. Hopefully I’ll get it.

At least yours shows shipped. You’ll probably get it. Do you have a tracking number? Hong Kong mail has very good tracking, and flights leave from there daily. Not just cargo flights either. A Boeing 777 300ER, stuffed full of passengers, can still carry ~30,000 lbs of cargo on a long-haul route.

I placed my order February 9th, and it only shows processing. Multiple emails and a PayPal dispute later and:
He claims I was refunded, but I can’t see it in my PayPal transactions page, and he won’t give me a transaction number.
He now claims it was shipped, but my order shows processing, and he won’t give me a tracking number (that I paid extra for).

One good thing about the internet: People share their experiences.

XHP50 J2-1A ordered on the 8th, shipped on 10th, will be in my hands on the 16th.

@LED Boatguy you've gotten the shaft from LCK-LED, but this is LED-DNA. Have you ordered from LED-DNA also? Surely you can't go saying LCK-LED is the same outfit because of a few similar associations, especially if its because they both use the same storefront software (BigCommerce).

Mind that we're both in the same state. I've posted my average shipping times from the orders I've gotten with tracking a couple times. I reckon that you'll get shipping times like mine from LED-DNA, plus the BLF15 coupon code. Free shipping and a 15% code? Both non-existent on LCK-LED.

I based it on:

Identical MO: No responses to emails, lies about shipping and refunds.
A few people who have ordered from both companies and report that the products are packaged in EXACTLY the same unique way. Everything about the orders are the same, except for the company name.
LCK never denied being the same company in my emails to them.
Posts like this: “I’ve bought from them and led dna a bunch lately through ebay. Both come very well packed and labeled. (I actually wouldn’t be surprised if LED DNA and lck led are the same company)”

Hey if you have good dealings with them, good on you. Shipping should be great, as Hong Kong generally ships to SFO, in your back yard. I had an excellent relationship with them over ten years ago.

I’ve ordered from LEDDNA several times, with the order consisting of a handful of items or just one. Every time I got multiple emails, right down to one stating my order was delivered. The items are packed in neat little silvery zip lock bags with a piece of paper inside with the full description of the item on it. Very helpful when ordering quite a few different emitters.
And mine have all come in around 7 days.

Scott, it’s Extreme(X) High(H) Performance(P) , XHP, in a 5x5mm size (50) or 7x7mm size (70) Hope that helps as it’s very misleading to see the alpha designations swapped around all the time.

Dale those silvery ziploc bags are static-proof bags designed to protect electronic bits. Neat and pretty, but functional too!

Sometimes I cut those into little insulation discs.

Hmm interesting idea. Any idea how they handle heat?

They can handle quite a lot of heat, but will start to melt and shrink if in direct contact with the heat source. I use the package that the LED’s come in from Richard fairly often. Have yet to have molten plastic to clean up inside a light. It’s just cheap insurance to keep the reflector from touching.

That said, I did break down and buy some Kapton tape. Cut up most of the excess on my solder paste masks from OSHStencils….

Those description cards are also stickers :)

Ordered 3-14
Awaiting shipment 3-14
Awaiting pickup 3-16
Shipped with a working tracking number 3-16

Where possible I put the little sticker inside the battery tube to indicate exactly what emitter was used. Then my horrible memory means nothing.

Holy fast shipping Batman.
I ordered 3-14, shipped on 3-16, processed through customs 3-18, and is at the USPS sort facility today 3-20.

Mine are still somewhere in route… ordered on 3/7 and 3/9 :~

Have bought 4 times from them, mostly SinkPads and emmiters, 2/4 orders had problems!

It seems to be a 50-50 game, once I recieved a wrong order and they offered to resend the right one which never came(3-4 months passed, took the money back from PayPal).
Second time a 35$ order which for me is not a small amount of money, order still not recieved after almost 50days, no answer to emails, live chat: “sorry we are not around” sience 2 weeks. I opened a PayPal dispute on the 43rd day and am waiting for refund.

One thing is sure, I am not buying from them again! I ordered the items for lck-led, which may be the same seller and hope to recieve them….

Edit: Took the 35$ back from PayPal, they seem to be still offine on the live chat…and still no package recieved!

I wish I had researched leddna prior to my purchase, it’s been 3 months since my order and I never receiver the items, never got a tracking number, and every few weeks I send them a message that to this day none were answered. Guess I’m at a loss, so if anyone lands here looking for a place to buy emitters, I recommend avoiding this store

You didn’t pay with Paypal? If you did you can file dispute.
