Under $10, 1x AA/ AAA/ 10440/ 14500 flashlight reference

Humā€¦How did I miss that thread!? Was looking for some cheapos giveaway lights and alternatives to the legendary sk-68/clones

Iā€™m really disappointed they donā€™t have a clipā€¦ I wouldā€™ve bought a half dozen of the 1xAA version if they had clips.

OK, thanks.

What LED does it come with? KD listing says XR-E.

Me too. The clip from a #3 zoomie works quite well with similar size lights but I donā€™t know anywhere to get them separately.

I was interested to these flashlight.
NEVER realized that the price is for 4 torches!

Now I really wanna buy these little stuffs

Shocked by the quality of this light. Itā€™s not the tiniest but the machining and in hand feel are awesome. AR lens and deep SMO reflector. Only downside is the reflector is limits LED selection to XP-E, XP-G, and 219.

Excellent news. Thanks for the report. They look like Trunite Tis' which have awesome knurling and are the brightest AAA I have. Do you have a Tis's to compare the output to?

Is KD Buckle V6 easy for emitter swap? Any review so far?

Sounds like jerm03 has one based on this thread. Maybe he will chime in.

It comes with a CW XP-E Gen1 emitter. Iā€™ve just ordered some 5a3 XP-E2s from LCK to put in these lights. The reflector basically uses the dome to center the LED, and itā€™s just big enough to clear the emitters Iā€™ve mentioned. With the XP-E though it has a really nice spot.

Yes and no. The LED shelf is wonderful (perfectly flat and almost a mirror finish) and is a perfect fit for 10mm Sinkpads (though at boost driver current levels this isnā€™t necessary). The reflector is where the challenge comes in. Refer to my last post for more details.

Iā€™ll try and take some pics of this light and some others that I just received later this evening.

I know about the 10mm square Sinkpads; Iā€™m assuming this refers to 10mm round boards fitting the Hugsby? Where can those be bought? Any that fit the Luxeon Rebel?

I have one, and am favorably impressed. However, I donā€™t do anything like emitter swaps. I would not even know how to begin. Sorry.

Thank you jerm03. Have you ever compared the output to the Tis?

I was referring to the KD V6.

You can find the boards here.ā€ MTN XP / 3535 10mm Copper MCPCB

I did in response to your question. I think the output is approximately equal. The Ti beam is not as tight so the KD Buckle has a slightly longer throw, but not enough to make a difference.

Ooh. Please post pictures of modding the buckle light.

+1

I got one that i had planned to mod, but i have totally failed in opening it :frowning: so any tips on how to get it open would be appreciated.

What about the Hugsby XP-1? My Bad, its not under $10!

Mmm, interesting, where does one find a Hugsby XP-2 for under $10!?
