My new collection of 50+ Chinese knives

Good link!

I tried to get it for 11.99, but Im in Canada so it charges me $3.75 for the shipping fee :(

Still for whatever it costs even $16 shipped its a real deal for what you get.

I have a black coated one and a regular satin color blade one, very happy with them both!

Same here...link has shipping charges attached.

I have a harbor freight special with a hollow handle! 7 bucks when on sale!

The sheath has a plastic insert to keep from shredding your 'nads...

(Don't say it) ;-]

el01 is an awesome knife..I have an el02 and it's almost as good..little play when opened which kind of bothers me, but i'm just being a perfectionist i'm sure..I am thinking about ordering an el04 with the snake skin micarta handle, but i'm not sure it will be perfectly tight when opened given it's an axis lock (same as el02)..my el01 is tight when opened with no play whatsoever..might take the chance for 20$

Both of my EL-02's are tight and from early production. Would tightening the jam nut help or is the slop in the lockup area where the jam mechanism meets the blade?

I just received my EL-04 and it is tight with zero wobble. It looks as nice as the photos suggest but still not enough in overall design robustness and ergonomics to topple the EL-01 from its thrown.

EL-04

tried tightening my el02 and the play resides..it's not a large play but it exists..guess it's a lottery..

I'm hungry!

Nice presentation, Flash!

It is a great pic, isnt it? Wish I could accept the kudos but I didnt take it.

Looks like I need to update the first post and add pics of my latest knives.

Thanks for the great thread - I have looked at some of those knives several times, and it's nice to have some trusted user feedback.

It was an impulsive shot when we received that dish of tomatoes as gift from a neighbour.

Since I rubbed the micarte scales with sandpaper and the initial "plastic" feel of the factory scales totaly disappeared. Here is my short guide with pics.

You have a nice collection Flash!

Im quite pleased with the factory appearance of my EL-04 and dont yet have the heart to etch the micarta scales. I will say that you definitley added to the asthetics of an already great & attractive design. Thanks for posting your sandpaper tutorial. I might blast mine with glass beads the next time Im over at the shop to rough it up a bit. I havent yet spent much time with my EL-04. How is yours holding up?

Im glad everyone enjoys the knives and suggestions from others. If anyone is one the fence, at least buy an EL-01. IMO, I havent yet found a better large folder for the price.

My EL04s are my new favourites. The handle shape of the EL04 is more ergonomic for me than the EL01. If you prefer a slimmer profile then the G10 version is for you. Anyway I enjoy both version because of the awesome blade shape which excels in slicing (it's very similar to the Benchmade Ritter Griptillian).

Please help me find a reseller for this knife...

The Sanrenmu Primitive. Its a fixed blade knife.

http://www.sanrenmu.com/en/fixed/product/29.php

Ive googled several times and cant come up with anything useful. Only speculation. I probably own every Sanrenmu knife Im interested in but this one. Hopefully this model didnt fall by the wayside when the 9 series folders went out of production.

Sanrenmu LB-763 OR/ Sanrenmu GB-763 that's the question?

I was thinking of ordering one from Discovery Bargain and can't decide the one to get. I don't have enough $$$ to buy both which is the obvious solution. One has g-10 handles and the other has aluminum ones. One is obviously lighter than the other. Anyone familiar with the 2 models or have a preference? Help.

I was also concerned about DB. I just ordered an Enlan EL04MCT and it doesn't show up on my account and I didn't get an email from them. Any thoughts?

Here is the link for anyone interested

EL04MCT http://www.discoverybargain.com/product/HT00551M/Enlan_EL04MCT_Axis_Lock_G10_Folding_Knife_(Black)_41624.html

the el04mct on db says the handle is g10 in the description..is it micarta? mct must mean micarta right?

The El-04 is micarta.

As for the 763s, had 'em both, kept the G-10 handle. The aluminum was very cool, don't get me wrong and it actually had pretty decent grip but the G10 handles won't show wear as much. It's a really minor difference, though.

Thanks. It seems that I'm leaning towards the G-10.

Are you saying that the G-10 model has a better grip feel (not as slippery) and is less cool in the hand than the aluminum handle version?

Also, I have to decide where to buy the knife. I might wait on DB before sending them any more money. I'm already having a little disatisfaction with communication. No email confirmation of my order and no response yet to my (thru the website) emails.

Any suggestions on the current best place to buy the SRM 763 will be appreciated.

manafont has the 763 for 11$..probably not the cheapest but a fast shipper and quality place to buy..I don't have the steel handle but I have the g10 763 and it's amazing (bought at manafont)..small knife but very nice EDC..

thanks for straightening out the micarta issue..

Nice Collection FP

My last one bought is a Ganzo G707

Even after dozens of orders, I've never received any response from DB except when I emailed them directly. They won't even respond to PP disputes, so your best bet is probably to use the email address they used to have on their website (service (at) DB (dot) com). As for which one to chose, I'd go with the GA (getting harder to find) or the GB. I've literally given away dozens of each and I carry a GA as my small EDC knife whenever possible while my LBs sit on a shelf or in a box. They are nice. The G10 763s are just more practical if you plan on actually using them.

DB is the cheapest source for GBs at the moment: I while ago I snapped up a couple for $8.50 or so, but right now you're looking at ten bucks, unless you're buying in quantity. Rumor has it that GAs will no longer be made, but I've never seen any independent confirmation from what I'd consider a reliable or even unbiased source for that claim. You can sometimes still get GAs for ten bucks if you know where to look but if you're buying singles, most retailers will charge you in the neighborhood of $13-16. LBs are ten bucks and don't fluctuate much in price or demand.

Thanks Oxy Moron for the response to my questions.

I just oudered a GB-764 from DB and since this time I logged in before ordering the transaction showed up in my account. Now I'm feeling a least a little better. What I find interesting is that the paypal account shows the Merchant as
王 海波.

And if you log into your paypal account it says:

Name: 王 海波 (The recipient of this payment is Non-U.S. - Verified)

Interesting yes?
