Noctigon Meteor M43 official sales and discussion thread

I agree here. The hours that go into reviews do deserve some sort of credit along with the fact that he picked up the postage charge on sending the light to the next reviewer.

It destroys everything and anything :open_mouth:

Now I regret not ordering mine when it was available… S4 2B looks awesome…

I hope Vinh doesn’t release a M43vn, this light deserves to be left stock. I don’t see the point of modding a light designed by modders in the first place.

You know he will and all of his minions will buy them like mad. His followers buy anything he touchea and for any price, its insane. I used to own a few of his lights a few years ago but lately its just gone way to far IMO

I am really curious what is he supposed to do? De-dome the LEDs? Change the MCPCB? More amps for such a tiny host so the thermal regulation kicks in after literally 10 seconds?

Hi,
this are my beamshots.
I try to get some informations about the distances.
The tree (1) around 50m
The rose arch (2) around 40m
The vertical beam (3) is 11m

One comment for the TK75vn70: The voltage of the batterys were 3,55V (measured half an hour after the beamshots were done). I couldn’t believe that the TK75vn70 has lost against the Meteor.
Yesterday evening I was in the garden again, without camera but with full loaded batteries in both lamps.
The TK75vn70 is much (visible) brighter than the Meteor.

Greetings
Uwe

How much did the TK75vn70 mod cost you? I own a stock one

I bought it from a user in the german flashlight forum.
At the moment the Euro/Dollar exchange rate is very bad for us.
Another problem are the german custom fees, which are around 25%.
My price was much less than in vinhs selling thread in the CPF.
Look here:
The way to Vinh’s TK75vn…

Thanks, that animation showed the beam differences very well!

Even with low batteries in the TK75, it still threw farther than the Meteor. The comparison showed me that a couple lights have more flood and one light had more throw but none had more lumens. It also showed me that I would probably want to change the optics on mine if I got one, to make it more floody.

Which exact model of the Meteor do you have? XP-G2 S4 2B with domes, I’m guessing?

A distinction should be made it is not TK75, it is the TK75vn70 modified by Vinh. Now That requires ab it of clarifications as Vinh does several modifications to the TK75, changes the driver to the one made by him, changing the LEDs to XHP70, XHP50, etc. In the end that TK70 can remains only as host when Vinh is done.

urausb, what is the the exact setup of the TK75vn70 you have, what LED, what driver, etc?

Yes, correct.

Vinh doesn’t make drivers…

Designed by RMM? Code is from DrJones!

Oh, Hank, why don't you lower the price again to the old one.. I know it will help people decide they want one or not :D

Designed and produced by Richard I believe.

Hank told me that the increase in price was not to raise profits but was to account for higher wastage than anticipated. Given they are hand assembled with a lot of attention to detail and care taken, this is fair I believe. I would be disappointed if Hank didn’t do well out of selling these. He certainly deserves it.

Hi, I have following version: XHP70CW, LD60vn UI, 3 independent driver for each LED

I bought it not directly from Vinh, so I’m not sure if it is a CW or a NW, but it look likes as CW. When I compare the light on a white wall with my Meteor (CW) it looks like nearly the same color temperature.

Alright. I have seen a custom purple driver that had "vn" on it on one of the big Fenix light he modified, I will post it when I find it again, since it had his name on it I assumed he made the driver.

I see, then it is far from the normal TK75 that has 3pcs XM-L2 U2 LEDs.

This is the triple LED independent drivers, based on the sales thread link.

Thats teflon wire. I have miles of that stuff. I think its solid or close to solid silver. Tarnishes pretty quickly when exposed off the end.
