Test/Review of Eachine PA40W 5 channel usb power supply/charger

It appears Banggood is the official supplier but they are out of stock.

I ordered one from Amazon based on HKJ’s review. (Thanks!) It arrived in four days without premium shipping. It does appear to be identical to the unit pictured in kaiser’s post.

I use it to run my “XTAR VC2” Li-ion charger, which uses USB power and was previously connected to my Apple iPad power supply. The other ports are handy for charging tablets and phones using short USB to Lightning connectors available on eBay.

A great gadget. Thanks for the tip!

That’s interesting: The name on the circuit board pictured is “vinsic”. I’ve bought 2 identical looking units with this brand name (vinsic) some time ago at Amazon.de. The Model No. is VSCW502 and the specs are almost identical to the one above. (smart outputs, 8A…) Nice to know that these prob. will be of the same quality tested and approved as the Eachine above. Compared to other similar multi-output devices I’ve tested (Anker 40W, Tecknet 50W) the Vinsic has a little low output voltage acc. to my measurements (with charger monitors). With 1A load still at 5.02V it drops to 4.92V at 1.8A load. The voltage level of the other brands is a bit higher which can be a good thing in order to gain the max charging rates with USB units.

“BlitzWolf” at BangGood

— the label in the BangGood picture says Manufactured by “Shenzhen Shebel Science and Technology co.LTD”
(note lower case and no space in “co.LTD”)
— the label pictured in the review here (first post) differs in that last bit
(having a comma after the period: “co.,LTD”

Trivial difference, but that’s what we look for to identify fake battery wrappers, so I have to ask.
Same long model number in the two pictures: ZQW121123050805
and ’oogle finds upwards of 600 hits for that, several different brand names on what’s presumably (one hopes) the same thing.

Just concerned that it’s possible to get the same board with parts left off to save money, as observed on seemingly identical hardware of other sorts.
Who ya gonna trust? Nobody, without verifying.

’oogling finds a variety of variations, for example:

Note the various differences in the output power label too.

and ’oogle on the model number (above) finds an Amazon model listing a different manuufacturer
“directed by FLOUREON manufactured by Zhengbai”

At least the Model number and manufacturer as well as the rest of the inscription on the side of the box looks identical. It seems like one OEM manufacturer (Shenzen Shebel Science…) sells his products under various brand names, maybe for different markets / world regions.

Hi HKJ, any plans to do any of the Anker products?

Amazon link

Yes, I have two usb chargers in queue.

Excellent, they seem popular here in the UK, I will keep an eye out for the reviews

I got the blitzwolf yesterday and play with it at the weekend…

slightly different…
is there a way to open it without destroying the housing?

If it’s the same as in OP then no, it is glued (“There was no easy way to open the box, I had to break it open and it was a bit difficult (This is good).”)
I you are samrt (smart) then keep it in one piece.

Hi HKJ and everybody else, thanks for all the wonderful info!

I have found some more info regarding this interesting charger - Images of the BlitzWolf’s brand internals:

(Source: BlitzWolf 40W Smart 5-Port High Speed Desktop Charger US $15.99 Shipped at Banggood.com - OzBargain)

According to the images it looks identical to what can be seen in HKJ’s teardown.
Furthermore, it seems that at the beginning of the month one could buy this unit from banggood for $15.99 shipped, but right now the coupon no longer works - The cart amount just goes down to 0$ and you cannot proceed with the checkout process. Oh, and they are out of eu plug version as well :_(

If someone manages to buy this one from banggood at the lower rate, please let us know.

Peace,
v0yAgEr.

Banggood teases; they offer the black one at $15.99, briefly — but it goes by so fast you don’t have time to click before the price goes up:

Haha I don’t think so… Looks more like a bug to me.
I have just sent them a message using their chat system about this issue.
Let see what will they say.

thank you!

i think i can let my charger unhurt

In relation to the products being discussed in here, I would really like to have some more info about the Anker’s 40W 5 port direct knock offs.
They all seem to be very similar design-wise, so I assume they are all the same, or very close to be.
I also assume that they are not equal to the Eachine PA40W, as everything similar to that model, has the same shell, and the same model number (and ~10$ higher price tag).
The Anker’s knock offs don’t have those “features”.

This is the original Anker product (not available internationally BTW):

Some of the knock offs I have found (some are even branded):

Etcetera, etcetera…

So, if anyone has some experience with them, please share

I own the Anker 5 port 40 watt charger. I only charge my Nexus 7, Moto G, and an iPod Shuffle with it. It works flawlessly and runs cool. I leave it plugged in 24/7.

Thanks for the input.
Even though not professionally tested, I’m sure that the original Anker product is excellent. It comes from a well known brand and has lots of good reviews.
The sad thing about this product is that Anker won’t ship it internationally and therefore I can’t purchase it.
I’m about to buy either the BlitzWolf unit, or one of the Anker direct knock offs, but I need some more info first.
I need the info because my entire idea is to get some high quality product, as I want my phone to last, and me being safe

HKJ, what do you think about a review of one of those Anker’s clones?

I have already ordered one.

I bought a number of Vinsic 40W power USB adaptors (VSCW502)

They are good for charging mobiles, but I don’t think that they are good for powering a Raspberry Pi. While I have not done a proper test, it seems to me that the output current drops over time - leading to instability in the computer
