Like most people, I have a number of lights that are used just occasionally. Incans work just fine for these. I have a few that are on a lot more often and for most of the evening, and for those I use (typically) Philips 100w equivalents. For my postlamp, which is on all night every night, I use a Philips L-Prize 60W equivalent. Does a good job.
I don’t bother buying CFL’s anymore. They annoy me.
The only incandescent lights I have are in the refrigerator and the oven. The refrigerator light isn’t on enough to consume much energy, and I seriously doubt an LED could handle being
right next to the oven, and that’s another light that isn’t on enough to consume much energy

I have 4 incandescent lightbulbs left in my house. Those are only used in my 4 ceiling fans that use 100 watt candelabra based halogen light bulbs. The rest are all LED's, 40 plus of them
Those mini CFL’s are crap. They won’t even last a year. I’ll replace what I have with LED when I can get a good deal on them. I got some incandescent to replace the CFL’s with as they die. I also use incandescent in the garage because CFL sucks in cold weather.
in order of use incandescent bulb and have enmity to cfl bulb try to buy led it is best for you with use incandescent bulb no problem solved
use cfl in cold air reduce their life and decrease their shine
incandescent bulb have short life and in order of long use they malfunction due to field of tungsten heat this is just increase your charge to replace them
if led can not brighten area try to double or triple it via add more light socket
in any case you use led bulb that is more beneficent for you
Counting appliances I probably have 8 or 10 incans left in areas where the light is not left on for long and/or I want instant light. I started gradually replacing them with CFLs years ago, I’m now replacing the CFLs with LEDs. At this point I probably have 60% LED, 30% CFL and 10% incan. LED is the only bulb I’ll buy.
I have quite a few brands, haven’t had a dud yet but I’d say I prefer the Crees. The light is adequate for the watt equivalence (40-100), tint is good both cool and warm, they’re readily available and priced well around here.
I have a couple of CFLs in my master bath and in a reading light by the bed. I like the fact that they come on dim at first.
I have 5 outdoor, double 250w halogen lights to replace next, just bought an outdoor, LED floodlight but haven’t put it up yet. I’m disappointed at the limited, high priced selection of outdoor LED lights.
Having spent time on this forum and built 50 or so lights I know there’s no reason we can’t have decent, high output outdoor LED lighting.
The light I just bought for $100 has three heads each with a single, cool white LED. It’s rated at 35 watts total for 2,500 lumens.
Really? Large, finned aluminum housings hard wired to 110V and all I get is 2,500 cool white lumens? C’mon!
No incandescent bulbs left. I migrate to new LEDs every time a CFL dies.

The majority of my LED bulbs came from Costco as well, and in most cases, these have proved to be the best value.
This one is definitely my favorite, holy bananas it’s bright, and the color is perfect! (I purchased from Costco, not Amazon)

Amber bulbs in refrigerator? Ooh... interesting. But wouldn't it be hard to see the colors of the food?
Amber lights are probably for the midnight snacks! 
Who cares what color the food is when it’s in the fridge?
The only incan I have left is a 6D Mag and it hasn't seen use since last year around this time on a quick trip around the block to walk the dog.

I’m switching over to mostly CFL’s since I had a bunch sent to me free courtesy of the local power company. I just pop a good one in when an incan dies and I’ll get there with the process eventually. Most of the time the only light on here is my only LED bulb; a Sylvania 40W equivalent on my desk. I don’t like the 2700K color but it was free and I ain’t rich or complaining! There will always be an Incan at my radio desk to keep RF noise down; that’s the only situation I know where the old is better than the new!

Yep, that’s the reason — to be able to snack without having trouble going back to sleep.
Incandescent because, well, it’s what I found available at the hardware store 20 years ago and they’re still working fine.

Being incandescent the color rendering is very good because it’s a continuous spectrum, just with the blue end cut off — not a narrow LED amber emitter but rather an amber ‘color temperature’
My only incan is my bedside lamp for reading.
I realized most of my lights are not Compact fluorescent but the long tubed ones.
Are they even classed as CFL?
I moved to CFLs years ago as soon as they started becoming moderately affordable. Due in large part to the reduced electric bill, as they use less energy, and dump less heat into the house, requiring less energy to A/C back out. In NE Texas, humidity is very high, 90%+, the summers are about six months long, and 100+F days are common, so we already run the AC a lot. I preferred the CFL and LED bulbs for the increased comfort caused by not pushing all of that heat into the house.
At this time, I have five incandescent bulbs in my house that I can think of:
I've been primarily using CFL bulbs, but am now migrating to a larger number of LED bulbs, due in part to (Shill-On!) Lowe's new low pricing on their Utilitech bulbs (Shill-Off!)
My largest frustration is thatlight manufacturers have switched to the "Specialty" E12/Candelabra base fixtures. Now I'm stuck having to buy extremely overpriced E12 CFLS, while affordable LED replacements have been impossible to find. I have a drawer full of unused incan bulbs taking up space now, that I have no use for, courtesy of this change...
