Review request for HKJ [Rechargeable Batteries]

MH1 is already published.

I have tested the Windyfire and will publish them when I am finished with Shockli

The rest goes onto the todo list.

Yes, it is two cells. With AA/AAA it is often 4 cells, but that is only to get a picture of the package.

With unusual battery sizes I either has to make new test scripts or process them the same ways as a already defined size, for the above it would probably be fine to run them the same way as C cells.

I will not ask anything , I just want to thank you for your assistance and your trouble my friend.

Always be well ΗΚJ

These are very good at 4A they beat hands down the EFEST V1 14500 on my sample, as you stated in one post they are the same as yours windyfire, capacity it’s almost constant from 0.5A to 4A, i could not make a constant current discharge over this value, as I’m blocked by the 20W max discharge dissipating power of my charger

I have tested them, with my REAKTOR and they are very very good, if you wish I could publish some graphs

With those efest 26650 , capacity is well below their ratings(in my samples), even at low amps, If I recall correctly the 4200 it’s like about 3800mAh, and the 5200, has the same percentage of mismatched capacity

… if I have still the data of the fresh cells lying arond on my hard drive, I’ll publish it.

Hi HKJ, do you have anything you could review to help shed light on this thread regarding Protection IC added to stock 18650 manufacturer's cells.

https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/34195

I've quoted my original OP below; I think many of us would be interested in a teardown of the quality and effectiveness of the retro-fitted protection circuits, as much as the cell efficiencies.

There is a lovely thread I found here by RMM of Mtn Electronics, for the protection circuits used by Keeppower (widely considered the gold-standard of Protected 18650 cells), https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/22519

This is a teardown with pictures of the Panasonic NCR18650B cell as wrapped by Keeppower and EVVA; with the inclusion of their Seiko protection circuits and button-tops.

It would be great to see something similar with these 'stock' unbranded re-wraps, as obviously not all protections are made equal...

Hirsh

Not at the current time.

I have tested some protections, but did not open the batteries to take photos of the circuit board.

http://lygte-info.dk/info/DischargeProtectionTest%20UK.html

Even if the used chip is good, it do not necessary make the protection good. Each chip exist in lot of models, each with slightly different parameters and only some fits a typical LiIon cell.

You could take a chip with one parameter set and it would be very good for a 3 transistor driver, but the same chip with another parameter set would not be good for 3 transistor, only for 1 transistor.

philips lithium primaries

any better than energizer lithiums?
hope you can test these out

Soshine is already in queue, I bought them from fasttech. ebay.

Thanks

+1 on the Soshine 26650 5500mAh, they seem really good from n10sivern’s test of them. If you could i would be very interested in the performance both with the protection & with the protection removed.
And @ DX you can find them much cheaper than that https://www.msitc-shop.com, that was just ridiculous expensive for a single 26650 battery………

And +1 on the green Efest 26650 4200mha battery, Mitko’s testhas indicated that it is possible the strongest in single 18650/26650 batteries 5-7A flashlight applications of any high drain battery with a DD driver & full round of low resistance mods  and even stronger than the Efest purple 26650 4200mha & Efest purple 26650 3800mha.

I don’t want to miss out on any of your future tests, so wonder if you maybe could have a mailing list or something similar, so we can get a heads up when you have published new tests.

I can’t find them @ fasttech?
Can you give me a link to them.

You are correct, I just saw the white label on the envelope, but it was not a fasttech label.

I got them from ebay.

Would you mind taking a look at a protected version of the Sanyo 18650GA battery as well?
Like keeppower bought from Nkon?
Thanks

I can’t find them on ebay either……the only 5500mha 26650 battery i find on ebay is TangsFire

No surprise in that, the dealer run out: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161668756309?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It’s not a battery…. But I think it will Be interesting to many if you could put an eye on this

HKJ has a separate thread for charger test requests.

I do agree and because I saw the earlier discussion about it I have already ordered it.

Because you posted it, somebody else is probably going to publish it the charger thread and I will have to answer again (Sorry, but I would like to get the request in the relevant threads).

Perhaps you should put links in the OP to your other review request threads. Help direct people to the right thread. Someone may stumble upon one of your review request threads just because it popped up in BLF recent threads and they may not realize there are separate thread for other requests.

Sorry. Before this battery request thread I even didn’t know you had “requests threads” :stuck_out_tongue:

if you wish…for redemption I could reply to them in your behalf

EDIT

+1
that is what happened
