It is exactly the same light I got from Gearbest but says UltraFire instead of Convoy. It has the same cheap driver spring, aluminum pill and rings. It doesn’t show the tail cap threads but I bet it’s just as crappy.

The DX one isn't as big an issue because it's 'UltraFire' branded, not Convoy. Everyone should suspect an UltraFire branded light because most are a dummy brand label, not to say all those are bad. At least now we know what's goin on, DX labels the tailswitch as aluminum too, so we know what it is and can avoid it, specially at that price.
I thought I was making some progress with GEARBEST through PayPal. I agreed to pay 2usd to cover the tracking fee for the resend of a REAL S2+. Well, I sent the $2 and now they want me to CLOSE my PayPal case before they send the tracking number and flashlight! I feel like a SUCKER for believing anything they say!
That’s common. Don’t do it.
Yeah, never close Paypal case unless you receive full refund or item in perfect condition!
Well absolutely ridiculous. Copying a buget light. lol. 
Yeah and I found the copy S2s are even worse than I thought: they have some burring of the aluminum on the inside of the tube on one, it will wear through the battery cover during usage…one has no o-ring under the lens and the third has a dent/tear in the inner portion of the reflector near the LED with a burr of metal sticking out…havent taken it apart to find out what is going on there…
Its been more than a month since I ordered mine, still hasnt arrived.
Hepfully its genuine one, if not, I will request refund.
Hah, have you seen the infamous Sipik SK-68? What about the Skyray King? How many different C8s are there, anyway?
We’re dealing with a veritable clone army. Sometimes the clones are even better than the original! But … well, most of the time it’s just a cheap imitation.
And all that for saving a massive $4.
Sorry guys, if you don’t buy Convoy lights from Simon direct, don’t expect to get the real ones.
On the one side, you want Convoy to have success and bring out more lights, on the other hand, you don’t buy from Simon to save a few pence.
Will he release that blue S2+ we’ve been asking for :D?!
Well hindsight is 20/20, but its also very common that a bigger volume store buys a big quantity from the company and actually sells them at a lower price than the company…which seems to have actually happened here too till someone got greedy…
Sorry but it does not work like that. In commercial dealings, it is frequent to see the following:
1.) A retailer selling at a lower price than the ‘producer’ or importer or wholesaler because of the trade deal he made with the manufacturer with respect to volume of purchase and commercial agreement with the manufacturer to sell at a higher price so as not to undercut the retailer. This saves them the hassle of having to micro manage sales, warranty and the likes. NOT saying this is the case in for Gearbest.
2.) Retailers will at times sell at a lower than MRSP or even purchase price to get sales volumes, get traffic, attack customers to buy other products etc.
3.) Some people might not want to deal with Aliexpress (non paypal)
Your reference would be like if I want a real Samsung S6, I should not purchase at a retailer but directly from Samsung…
This needs to happen. There’s a crazy amount of demand for a sexy blue… And it will pair beautifully with my car. 
I would love to have red S2+ and blue S2+, perfect for autumn-to-early-spring EDC for those longer nights :D!
MountainKing - you can always ask Aliexpress seller to give their Paypal address and they will happily oblige, I think it was mentioned that Convoy store is happy to do so as well ;)!

I buy from Simon regularly and always use PayPal. Never an issue. Unfortunately there are no plans as of now to make a blue S2+ or any other color besides those already offered. I’ve asked Simon directly…more than once. The more people that ask the better our chances though. I suggested blue and green to him. No go so far. :_(

I do have the red one though and it’s a beauty. Comes in a nice heavy white gift box with silver Convoy lettering and foam cutouts. That switch is sweet.

To add to my post above, the retailer (gearbest) appears to have definetely sourced some batches of convoy elsewhere from Simon in this particular case. Was it a deliberate plot to reap in more profits while selling a clone? Was it a genuine mistake?
You can buy the lamp via AliExpress and PM Simon that you want to pay with Paypal - no problem at all.
What I wanted to say is: People want COnvoy to make more great lights but try to spare every pence they can get.
That’s not how it works.
Simon can’t make more and even better lights without money - and to be honest, $4 more don’t hurt anyone in BLF.
The S2+ is back on stock on GearBest, for the same price. Hopefully this gets solved…
