I have to agree. A store credit for a store that I canāt trust means nothing to me. If you paid with PayPal they should issue a PayPal refund. Sure there is a chance they didnāt know they were selling fakes. The fact is the numbers just happen to work out in their favor by selling half real ones and half fakes. A big enough percentage of the people buying them wonāt know the difference so even giving a few refunds they still make a nice profit. This works out even better for them if the few buyers that report it accept store credit as a refundā¦ The whole thing stinks in my opinion.
Indeed. Persistence is key here. Iām sure multiple people asking for the same thing doesnāt hurt. When I responded to him about the blue S2+ I also mentioned that lots of people were asking him to bring back the L2. Weāll see. It did finally work with the S2+.
I think in order to get Simon to do a run of L2s youāre going to need to do an GB interest thread. There has been much more interest expressed for a blue S2+. Not so much in the L2. Get some interest numbers. If the numbers are there, Simon will do it.
Clearly tell them āI need a PayPal refund. Do not give me store credit or coupon.ā And Iād put at the end of every message I sent to them regarding this.
Of course they may still try to give you credit. But at least you were quite clear on the matter.
I think part of the problem is that in China there can be several companies making lights for one person\brand name. I believe Simon probably uses the one manufacturer, hence the good quality. But since every copies each other over there it becomes a free for all. We had this with the X6 BLF if I recall correctly, various quality hosts coming out.
These āfakesā do seem to be particularly bad though.
By the way did anyone know that EagleEye is Rayus light? Again hence the high quality.
I agree. Good point about cleaning up this thread. It seems to have spun out. If you buy from Simon you will never get a fake Convoy. Iām excited for the blue S2+ too. I talked to Simon again last night. He shot down the green version because he thinks a green flashlight is ugly. LOL Iāll still try to change his mind though. As far as the L2 goes Iām sad to report that he said he will not bring it back because the design is not good (obviously many disagree) and he didnāt make money on that one. Cool as many people think it was you canāt expect a business man to knowingly produce something that will not turn a profit.
Yeah thatās the real reason, he didnāt make money on it. That = ādesign is not goodā for a business man. For most of the reasons we may like it, the āgeneral publicā probably doesnāt, so it wonāt sell in high enough numbers. The only way to bring it back probably would be to try to get a āgroup buyā with high enough numbers here for him to be interested. You could ask what those numbers would look like, but because its more expensive, it would be hard to get many hundreds.
