Lighthound is out of business

I just found out last night that lighthound.com is down.
From the website:

LIGHTHOUND IS CLOSED

We would like to thank you for allowing us to serve you all these wonderful years.

Please note that all orders placed have shipped.

I was just about to place an order with them. Too bad they’re closed, I have the button light they included as a freebie in my pocket right now.
I also didn’t know that they were in Alvin, TX - fairly close to Houston.

well, that is too bad. Thanks for finding out. I had a few items bookmarked and didn’t order yet.

That’s unexpected… just a few days ago they just announced the new PD35 TAC and the CL25R lantern on their facebook page… they also had very recent activities in their eBay store and out of the sudden there are 0 items?

I’m sad to hear they are closing their business. My first major order of light was with them. They were/are great.

I saw the closure and was surprised. They were one of the first good online shops for flashlights.

I too have had excellent past experience with them and was shocked to see that they had closed. They just had a Christmas in July sale too. I really wonder what is behind the closure….

the future is in mail-order-only.

store fronts cost too much.

Taxes will do that. Got a friend that has a business. The taxman taxes everything in the building. Shelves, chairs everything. Too bad it’s an auto repair shop. He can’t go amazon on them.

I remember I got my first AW 18350 battery from them as well as nyogel. Sad to see them go.

I will miss Lighthound . I hope the owner, John Crighton , is well and wish him all the best. John was a member of CPF back when it had a very different vibe. Much of my shopping in this hobby was done at Lighthound, Battery Station, and Wayne Yamaguchi’s The Sandwich Shoppe.

R u sure they wernt h4x0rd?

Aside from what’s displayed when you try any of the old Lighthound links, has any word come from the owner about this development?
