Super Mag & SWM mods-Neutralizers I & II

Great job on the monster mag and thanks for sharing the diagram on the wiring now I know what to do when my Skyray 3XML craps out.

WOW +1

Indeed a fine modded mad, well done that man!

I really like the tailcap soloution, nice bit of work there too.

The Piggie Light v2

Outstanding job!!!!!! Beamshots PLEASE.

Wow man, awesome!

Nice! Name it "The Statement" :)

Hmmmph....I can do better.

do you have beamshots? :o

I know you said you're not set up for beamshots, but just take a pic outside at night or something. I think many of us are interested.

That is a sweeet looking mod!

I love the "business" end of the light. Multiple led lights are normally not my thing at all but even I can see that this is pretty! And the inside picture of the pill with all the leds connected is really just a testament to good craftmanship! Wonderful work thanks for sharing that.

Love it. And last. Pretty please with sugar coated strawberry on top - make us some beam shots

Oh man Iā€™m in love. You should send a prototype to maglite, you might become really $$$$$$$. And yes we want beamshots please

OK, here's some more pics.

Here is how the stacked driver looks before I put it in the light:

Photoshop salvage job for fuzziness but it illustrates it anyway...

Reactor core for another light I'm doing. Going into a 2C. This one is neutral XML's with CW XPG's. Neutrals for walking, CW's for a wakeup strobe. (Almost got nailed on dog walks one too many times.)

Other end. You see how the drivers get recessed into the sink. Looks like a Third Reich era V-2 engine!

Yep, I wire it through the switch hole! This, again is the 2C I'm working on. The head goes on first, threadlocked and tightened carefully to avoid later movement, otherwise the wiring gets hung up on the secondary switch.

Red wires go to mag switch +. Blacks to ground. Green to yellow on the second switch. The other yellow goes to direct batt. +, another wire that I added to the Mag switch setup, invisible here.

Enjoy them!

Rich

ohhhhmagosh! pure brilliant. I demand video and beamshots for this beast! :)

Rich, thanks for the extra'pics. Your driver stack is amazing! I know it won't be longer than a couple days until another member puts the same into a skyray or trustfire triple. :)

Thanks! Mag C is tight... don't know if it'd fit in a fryray host. I love the Mag C host-perfect size.

I'm too damn lazy to do beamshots... look up info in the Ledil spot reflector for the MC-E and you'll know what it looks like.

Rich

Man this thing is amazing. I've been building single XP-G or XM-L Maglites, but this gives me inspiration for my first multi-emitter Mag. Digi-key is an awesome company, but holy crap there are a million-and-one options for optics/reflectors. The Ledil Booms are made for MC-E's, but do they work just as well with the XM-L? I see Ledil doesn't have any reflectors categorized for the XM-L, but they have a ton of options for XP-G's. Maybe I'll just start out with a triple XP-G setup.

That's exactly what I used-Ledil Booms for MC-E. I love 'em. Huge, soft hotspot and not distracting. For the XP-G's, I used the little 10mm spot optics for XP-G.

If you are doing one for the first time, start out simpler. This one was not easy and I have 30 year's of wiring experience.

Rich

Thanks Rich. I love the look of those Booms, and having just 3 emitters will work well with Download's Muti-Lux method (which I finally think I understand after analyzing it for a whole day). However, I do like throw, and I'm not sure the XM-Ls with the Booms will be enough (that's why your XP-G's w/ optics is a great idea, but certainly too much for me). I'll keep thinking about it...
