Blue S2+ flashlight, for guys, for your bro!

Hey bugsy, is that your new nickname?

now it takes a 1000 posts for the next giveaway ;) pity ;p

Crud.

Now you tell me about the discount a few hours after I put in my order.

I ordered 2 days ago, but there’s still an option to cancel the order on my Ali account. I left Simon a message asking whether he can adjust or if I should cancel and reorder.

KuoH

Thanks! Please let us know if it works.
I’ll still be happy even if I don’t get a discount. I’ve never been disappointed with Convoy lights. Improvable? Yes. Let down? No way!

Unfortunately the time difference is a factor here. I just happened to place my order while he was still online, probably just before he wrapped up for the night. There are sometimes delays of near a day but he always comes though. Simon has to sleep too.

Yeah sorry buddy. I didn’t even think about it when I made the OP so I had to ask him and wait for his response. You can always send him a message and ask if he can do anything.

Oh, no need for apologies! It’s all good.

Interesting. I didn’t realize the switch wasn’t waterproof. I took mine apart just now though, and verified that it’s not. It appears to be at least slightly water-resistant though.

And now that it’s apart, I can fix the spring that I nearly melted with too much current. Add a bypass. I really should have done this when I built the thing initially.

In any case, I’ll probably wait until RMM has the blue host in stock. I want one, but I haven’t figured out what to do with it yet. With so many lights, it’s getting really hard to find a purpose for any new ones.

It’d also be really nice to have a triple spacer sized for the S2+ instead of having to find old S2 pills to swap in. I build almost everything as a triple now, since the beam and output are so much nicer.

If the code was available when I ordered I would have used it.
But ah well, he deserves an extra beer for making this light.

Anybody have a picture of either the red or the blue with an 18350 mid-section? The color won’t match of course, but I’d like to see it.

There is no boot in the switch? It’s not waterproof?

Correct. That’s what Simon told me. The silcone switch cover is the waterproofing for the switch. The stainless while still tight and beautiful to look at IMHO is not waterproof. Water resistant maybe but that’s where it stops. Beauty always comes at a cost…

The CNQG brass light managed to stay waterproof with a metal switch, and it’s really compact, but it used a totally different method. I’ve never seen it used elsewhere in any way which actually worked. It’s basically a metal cover for a rubber boot.

BLF ti has a rubber boot under the metal cap too.

But it also has threads on the inside so water can leak through the spiral gap. The CNQG brass lights have threads on the outside, and pressure holding the boot against the inside wall, so this isn’t an issue.

The BLF Ti could probably be made waterproof by adding teflon tape inside, but this might interfere with getting power through the body.

In any case, the S2+ metal switch isn’t waterproof. But I like it enough that my red one is one of my favorite lights anyway. I don’t have the head waterproofed either; it has an optic directly pressed to the metal with no o-ring or glass. I’d add those, but the triple spacer I’m using doesn’t leave room.

Triple spacer for the S2+ is at

  Awesome!
Thank you Richard for such wonderful products at oh so reasonable prices and thank you for the info Hank! Then again… dang it Hank… now I feel I have to turn mine into a triple… wife, family and friends already think I’m nuts. :money_mouth_face:

Seriously… this forum is trouble… but I LOVE it!

It’s wasn’t me that needed a triple I swear!

It was some guy with a moustache… and a big hat… :face_with_monocle:

I’d really like to see these in the 18350 versions!

Hi, do protected batteries fit in this light easily?

Would anyone be willing to take pictures of the metal tail button disassembled?
