Blue S2+ flashlight, for guys, for your bro!

I know they are not everyone’s favourite retailer but I’ve just noticed that Gearbest have a coupon code for both the red AND blue S2+.
The code is S2490 and brings the price down to $12.99.

Mine just hit the US today. Should be here tomorrow or Saturday!

They shipped out my 3 x Blue S2+ 4 days after ordering, so they have them in stock. I have of course ordered some direct from Simon also, but wanted the 4C tint, and why pay $16.xx + custom made, when I can get the 4C tint for 12.99? And I’m sure of that Gearbest.com don’t going to sell fake Convoys anymore.

While you certainly have the right to your opinion, I wholeheartedly disagree. Gearbest has burned BLF member over and over and over. Their customer service sucks and they are dishonest. If you paid that much at Simon’s store then you didn’t apply the BLF discount and wait for Simon to adjust the amount. I don’t care if Gearbest is selling them for $5. I still wouldn’t buy from them. I don’t support a business that bribes people to remove negative reviews and only publishes positive reviews on their own site. Even in the Gearbest ad for the S2+ they lie about the product details.
They claim it puts out 1000 lumens…Lie.
They claim it has AR coated glass…Lie.

Why buy from Simon you ask?

Simon is an honest businessman who makes excellent products at very reasonable prices and listens to his customers.
You have lots of customization options that he charges very little (sometimes nothing) for and he gets your order right.
Orders from Simon arrive way faster than Gearbest (he upgrades to faster shipping for free). All you have to do is ask.
I could go on but I’ll leave it there…

It’s hard to find decent chinese sellers! If people continue choose to buy from one of the worst instead one of the best then Simon won’t survive. No S2+ red, blue, L2 or any great Convoy lights. And Simon / Convoy will become more important as the counterfeit Cree leds start showing up everywhere. They are starting to look too close visually. Soon we won’t be able to prove they are counterfeit trash with a side by side picture. “Oh, your tint looks like puke and lumen output is far below what it should be? Sorry! That’s just the tint and bin lottery. We guarantee it’s genuine, our supplier confirms it. Have a nice day!”

“And I’m sure of that Gearbest.com don’t going to sell fake Convoys anymore.”

.
Well Ken,

We can only hope that is the case, but with a track record like GB has, I’m going to have to pass…

“Fool Me Once, Shame on You - Fool Me Twice, Shame on ME!”

And that’s really a shame - GB (as a new business) is supposed to be trying to build Trust - And they did for awhile.

They did make things right for the people that received Fakes, but at what cost? - Getting another sent (or a refund) is just like pulling teeth, except that it takes much longer :frowning: As you know, they want to make it very difficult for you.

You know what? - If you simply don’t let them have your money to begin with, you will never have a problem with them again.

100% Guaranteed!

Best of luck to you,
-Chuck

Better not so sure about that but if they resolve it like before, admit and send replacement imo still worth a try.
Well, they not sent me fake red S2+, otherwise I have some spare host and parts :shy:

How about think the other way;
If Gearbest selling original Convoy, it should be from Simon too right? There’s possibility Simon prefer other buying from him in bulk rather than 1 - 2 pieces, if you calculate shipping cost, may be he got not much different selling price and less hassle.
Other than that, by selling in more online store (which many is more popular than his aliexpress store), it will make Convoy more well known, although true too it can be backfire if those store selling fake Convoy with lower quality.
About description, I absolutely agree with you, Gearbest have to do their homework in this matter, not just put some template description.

Well said Halo. Gearbest is concerned about only one thing. Profit. Simon on the other hand could have chosen to sell his products at significantly higher prices to make more profit. He offers build quality (machining, fit and finish) and QC on par with much more expensive lights yet he choses to keep his prices low so people like us can have great reliable lights without breaking the bank. I can think of no other brand that can match the quality per dollar offered by Convoy. Oh yeah, and he never lies about his products. Dealing with a consistent, trustworthy business that offers excellent service and value is more important to me than saving a dollar and taking a risk. When it come to people and relationships I’m all about forgiveness and second chances but this is business. Rock on Simon! Can’t wait to see the new L2 he’s working on! He won’t even release pictures of it until it’s complete and he’s done what he can to protect his design because of businesses like Gearbest. I’m not saying they’re the only bad guys out there but they’re among the worst offenders for certain.

A big plus for me in buying from Simon is that you can have a 3x or 4x 7135 driver.
These come with the conventional brass ring holding down the driver. This makes it easy to swap out drivers or re-flash the controller.
The 8x 7135 driver included with the GB special is double sided, so the rings do not fit and the driver is soldered to the pill. So no ring and you need a good soldering iron and technique to remove the driver.

Simon also sells the hosts now at a very fair price.

I have bought from Simon in the past and cannot fault his quality of service, but I would buy a lot more stuff from him if only he could drop or reduced his minimum order policy.

Example: If I wanted to buy a blue S2+ host and the components to go with it, I would end up having to buy 2 hosts, 5 identical drivers and 5 identical LEDs for a total cost of around $60! Sorry, but it aint gonna happen.
I’m sure he has his reasons (lack of staff/time etc.) but it must be losing him a lot of business. Perhaps a minimum order value would be a better policy?

I believe he will sell individual hosts / items if you ask. Particularly if you’re ordering several different items. It doesn’t appear that aliexpress supports a minimum order value. He has to work around aliexpress’ deficiencies. He accepts paypal payments outside of aliexpress because they don’t support it.

Mine landed in LA yesterday and should arrive Tuesday

My order of 1 blue and 1 red from Simon touched down in Malaysia yesterday. As today is already the weekend, most probably the postman will deliver the parcel on Monday or Tuesday

Ordered my host on Wednesday the 26th and now I’m just like a kid on December 12th waiting for December 25th. :santa:

i cant buy one i only have a basic card that works with paypal :frowning:

Simon takes PayPal. Just message him on Aliexpress, tell him you are from BLF to get your discount, tell him exactly what you want and then have him send you an invoice through PayPal. Log in to PayPal, pay him and you are golden.

I bought a blue host from BangGood. As others said, much rather prefer buying from Simon direct but for a single piece, you have to buy 2 -- ugh. With BG, I trust them a whole lot more than GearBest, I can use the BLF 8% code, or use my points. Only thing tracking is extra - believe Simon includes tracking. I'm hoping these Convoys at BG are coming from Simon anyway, so we still are supporting him. I have and will buy from Simon direct for many things, parts, etc., in small volumes.

After the 24% coupon from m4dm4x, the Banggood host is tempting at $9.10.
But they show stock is only expected on the 12th.

Ohh - didn't notice the re-stock. I paid $10.19 w/points I find hard to use - didn't know bout the coupon, nice!
