Video Review: Xtar Warboy H3 18650 Headlamp. Lumens, Runtimes, throw, & Comparisons w/ other headlamps.

Good Day MHanlen & Grover 2,

A Very Good, Informative & Entertaining review.

Thank you Very Much,

George

This really is a very, very good review. The comparison beamshots really give some perspective and the time lapse sequence shows whats really happening with the thermal management on the Warboy. Think i will have to get one of these when/if they come up on offer!

He did most of the editing too. Did you happen to notice the thumbs up in the UI section?

Thanks!

When I saw my runtime test for the first time I did think it was a little strange. I emailed Xtar, and saw it in olds review about the same time. And Kara from Xtar confirmed it in an email. Thanks! I was hoping to pack this review with more data than all my previous reviews. I know the beamshot section was a bit dense, but those weights in there are fully loaded headlamps with straps- although I didn’t explain it outright.

And heads up, Gearbest is running a limited special this weekend:

http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_232692.html

I ordered one in spite of the ‘10-15 day’ expected shipping date.
Would have preferred a neutral white option, but otherwise it looks great.

Edit: Browser cache…seems the Gearbest deal over.
Edit 2: Back on!

Nice review. Kind of throwy. Good regulation.

That’s a great deal! I agree… Which it came in a better tint, but it’s a great deal nonetheless.

Thanks for insights and for video :D!
Bought it during sale on GB, will take a while to arrive but looks like its worth it!

No problem, hope you like it!

Is £32.23 the regular price at Gearbest? What was the sale price? Edit; just spotted DEL’s edit

I’ve only seen $49.99 USD as a price.

Wow that’s a steal!

Excellent review.
Never seen myself as a headlamp user, but your review has definitely piqued my interest

I really enjoyed the video.

I just can’t decide if I want to get one or not. I’m about to pull the trigger on the Solarforce L2E. It’s larger, but it takes P60 drop-ins and can run 2x18650s.

It’s a nice affordable headlamp with decent runtimes. Thanks! Headlamps are useful when camping and you need free hands… Working and you need free hands… Or biking. Despite what you see me doing with it in the video, I would much rather go for a walk with a flashlight.

It’s super cheap right now at that above link. Probably won’t be that price again for a while. The BLF way is to get them both! Thanks for the kind words!

Well, if you just go out and walk a dog, then yes, but for, lets say, hiking, IMHO it would be much better to use headlamp and have flashlight on your belt for occasional trail checking in the distance.

I would find it weird to walk around the city with headlamp :D!

Did anyone measure the lens on it?
I’m asking so that you could put frosted film on one for flood and leave the other clear for a bit of throw.

Googling didn’t yield anything.

I didn’t measure it. I’ll try in a day or two when I have time and see if I can the head apart.

Yeah luckily no one was around when I was shooting it! I agree it’s for camping and hiking mostly- that’s what I use it for. Also working on things.

Just when I convinced myself to pull the trigger, the sale ended. :frowning:

It’s $49 now. I’d take it at $30, at nearly $50, nope.

The sale ended really fast
Guys, would you recommend this light for night running?

Doh, i missed it again :frowning:
