installing a new driver !

Hi guys anyone have a how to on removing the driver in a P60

Always remember to turn off the ignition and get out of the driver's seat first :-P

First pull off the outer spring - I've never seen one soldered on or glue or anything, it should just pull off.

The driver is held on at the back by those two globs of solder at 2 o'clock and 8 o'clock. It may be helpful to remove the soldered on centre spring first as you are going to have to take it off at some point. Th solder blobs have to go. Some swear by solder suckers - I swear at them and use desolder braid instead.

P60 reflectors just unscrew from the brass pill. Unsolder the + and - wires from the LED and if possible remove the LED at this point. It may, or may not be easy. If you are keeping the LED be gentle here.

It should now be possible to pull out the driver board. If not, you are in to more desoldering or advanced disassembly involving blowlamps, hot ovens and burnt fingers. Make sure you remove the LED before trying advanced disassembly.

Thanks Don thats a big help.
