GearBest requiring me to search for my package

“Yes, need to chill a bit.”
Great! I will take your advice and drink a frosty cold beer on the couch.

Fact is:

Shipping from overseas sellers usually takes time. Even orders on the same day won’t necessarily end up at your door on the same date; these giant warehouses have smart logistical systems in place that route the items in ways we would never understand with logic.

Packages might get…

- delivered to neighbors

- or the wrong house

- misplaced or re-routed inside and to another warehouses or delivery centers

- get ground shipping instead of air mail

  • get the special treatment from your customs team because there was an alarm or it was picked randomly or for any other reason.

Once I ordered an extension tube and it got picked up by customs because it looked like a silencer! That alone took 2 weeks.

Oh man, I hope they confirmed that it wasn’t before putting you on some kind of list. :~

You can use a post card, addressed to Postmaster at your ZIP code, to do that

I did not know that, thank you.

Actually once the package arrives to the US and it gets handled by USPS is no longer the seller’s fault. Several occasions I had packages misplaced or mishandled by USPS, but never lost.

Usually when you buy single items that are shipped in an envelop it has greater chance of getting lost, this is why I order several items at the same time so it ships in the bag and always pay for tracking.

I always wondered how these free shipping method worked, sending a $2 item overseas for free, that’s incredibly cheap and one simply cannot expect it to work every time.

That extension tube wasn’t a big deal and I got it after a they had a look. But customs agencies have to be very careful these days because so many customers buy edged weapons online. And many countries I travel to (ie in Europe) have very strict laws governing these items.

I have plenty of complaints about the USPS, don’t get me started.

How great is BLF though, always plenty of helpful advice here. Thank you all.

Glad it got worked out without too much trouble.

Once, I was coming back from work and was in a big hurry to go to toilet but there was a package in my mailbox
You know where this leads to
Anyway, while I was sitting there, doing my business, I ripped the envelope to check what goodies I received but, instead of usual stuff that I receive there was a sexy womens underwear inside, honestly I was disappointed, only then I took a look at the envelope and of course, recipient was some unknown to me person not even close to my address.

I don’t mean to be rude but why did you really feel the need to actually go down to you post office just because GB wanted you to?

GB’s response is pretty standard. They want to try every possibility, every delay before maybe, perhaps being forced to give you credit for it. “Refund? What does refund mean? Store credit is just as good!”

How many post offices just throw packages in the corner instead of delivering them or at least sending you a note that it could not be delivered due to some issue? We do not need to waste our time to go down to our post office and ask “Would you mind checking the corner again for a package for me that you were too lazy to deliver or notify me about? It’s cheap crap from china, not something you would be interested in stealing, probably just in the corner.” And if you post office does do that you likely already know, already checked.

I know, there’s always something exciting about opening a package. It’s such a let down when you realize a mistake was made.

Should I have told them I refused to do it or just told them I did without really going?

I just tell them I checked with my post office in my initial message to them about a missing item, before they even ask. One less thing for them to say to try to delay.

Well, I didn't want to come out and say it....BUT I WILL NOW ..sometimes they sell things they DO NOT HAVE as evidenced in the late great Samsung 30Q battery incident. That is a practice I will not condone and it will definitely effect the speed in which it gets to your mailbox and in addition possible future purchasing on my part. YMMV

I defiantly will do that next time, good advice. Thanks!

GearBest is known to be one of the crappier stores. Banggood is better from what I’ve read.

Sorry if I misunderstood what you were implying in the first post. You said you had posted in another thread earlier in the week, perhaps if I’d read that thread I’d have been quicker to get what you were saying. Thanks for clarifying.

Cheers!

As many knows, I have ordered allot from several sellers, including over 100 packages from Gearbest.com since the start of July this year.
Most packages has got here, some quite fast, but there is no system. Etc, sometimes I get orders places after some other orders that already has shipped out, of course talking about packages with tracking here.
Then they have a bug in their system, so some packages over $40, do not get tracking, despite the box is checked. These packages takes forever to get here to Norway, and after 50-60 days, I have got refund for around three packages now, still waiting for at least 3 more that soon hit the 50 day mark. No package with tracking has been lost, but some is getting here very slow. Like batteries.
But that also happen on BangGood and AliExpress.

I have to say that I in these cases that the package has not got here in 50-60 days, have got to my post office, and asked them to search for it. But I also have a very small post office, so they can search it using 5-10 minutes at the most.
I also have a deal that they do not send packages that is not picked up within 14 days back to the seller.

I also find the standard e-mail from GB irritating, etc, they ask me to check the address…what!! you have sent me over 100 packages the last months, I use the same address on all of them. So nothing wrong there.

But to be sure you get your package as fast as it goes, use tracking. If not using tracking, it can take forever, and maybe not get there.

Even 80-90 days after the packages I have got refund for was sent, they have not got here.

BangGood has always treated me very well. This is the first time I’ve had any issue with GearBest so the first I’ve dealt with their customer service. It’s a learning experience.

Thanks again awesome people of BLF
