GearBest requiring me to search for my package

I did not know that, thank you.

Actually once the package arrives to the US and it gets handled by USPS is no longer the sellerā€™s fault. Several occasions I had packages misplaced or mishandled by USPS, but never lost.

Usually when you buy single items that are shipped in an envelop it has greater chance of getting lost, this is why I order several items at the same time so it ships in the bag and always pay for tracking.

I always wondered how these free shipping method worked, sending a $2 item overseas for free, thatā€™s incredibly cheap and one simply cannot expect it to work every time.

That extension tube wasnā€™t a big deal and I got it after a they had a look. But customs agencies have to be very careful these days because so many customers buy edged weapons online. And many countries I travel to (ie in Europe) have very strict laws governing these items.

I have plenty of complaints about the USPS, donā€™t get me started.

How great is BLF though, always plenty of helpful advice here. Thank you all.

Glad it got worked out without too much trouble.

Once, I was coming back from work and was in a big hurry to go to toilet but there was a package in my mailbox
You know where this leads to
Anyway, while I was sitting there, doing my business, I ripped the envelope to check what goodies I received but, instead of usual stuff that I receive there was a sexy womens underwear inside, honestly I was disappointed, only then I took a look at the envelope and of course, recipient was some unknown to me person not even close to my address.

I donā€™t mean to be rude but why did you really feel the need to actually go down to you post office just because GB wanted you to?

GBā€™s response is pretty standard. They want to try every possibility, every delay before maybe, perhaps being forced to give you credit for it. ā€œRefund? What does refund mean? Store credit is just as good!ā€

How many post offices just throw packages in the corner instead of delivering them or at least sending you a note that it could not be delivered due to some issue? We do not need to waste our time to go down to our post office and ask ā€œWould you mind checking the corner again for a package for me that you were too lazy to deliver or notify me about? Itā€™s cheap crap from china, not something you would be interested in stealing, probably just in the corner.ā€ And if you post office does do that you likely already know, already checked.

I know, thereā€™s always something exciting about opening a package. Itā€™s such a let down when you realize a mistake was made.

Should I have told them I refused to do it or just told them I did without really going?

I just tell them I checked with my post office in my initial message to them about a missing item, before they even ask. One less thing for them to say to try to delay.

Well, I didn't want to come out and say it....BUT I WILL NOW ..sometimes they sell things they DO NOT HAVE as evidenced in the late great Samsung 30Q battery incident. That is a practice I will not condone and it will definitely effect the speed in which it gets to your mailbox and in addition possible future purchasing on my part. YMMV

I defiantly will do that next time, good advice. Thanks!

GearBest is known to be one of the crappier stores. Banggood is better from what Iā€™ve read.

Sorry if I misunderstood what you were implying in the first post. You said you had posted in another thread earlier in the week, perhaps if Iā€™d read that thread Iā€™d have been quicker to get what you were saying. Thanks for clarifying.

Cheers!

As many knows, I have ordered allot from several sellers, including over 100 packages from Gearbest.com since the start of July this year.
Most packages has got here, some quite fast, but there is no system. Etc, sometimes I get orders places after some other orders that already has shipped out, of course talking about packages with tracking here.
Then they have a bug in their system, so some packages over $40, do not get tracking, despite the box is checked. These packages takes forever to get here to Norway, and after 50-60 days, I have got refund for around three packages now, still waiting for at least 3 more that soon hit the 50 day mark. No package with tracking has been lost, but some is getting here very slow. Like batteries.
But that also happen on BangGood and AliExpress.

I have to say that I in these cases that the package has not got here in 50-60 days, have got to my post office, and asked them to search for it. But I also have a very small post office, so they can search it using 5-10 minutes at the most.
I also have a deal that they do not send packages that is not picked up within 14 days back to the seller.

I also find the standard e-mail from GB irritating, etc, they ask me to check the addressā€¦what!! you have sent me over 100 packages the last months, I use the same address on all of them. So nothing wrong there.

But to be sure you get your package as fast as it goes, use tracking. If not using tracking, it can take forever, and maybe not get there.

Even 80-90 days after the packages I have got refund for was sent, they have not got here.

BangGood has always treated me very well. This is the first time Iā€™ve had any issue with GearBest so the first Iā€™ve dealt with their customer service. Itā€™s a learning experience.

Thanks again awesome people of BLF

That was my first thought when they ask me to confirm the mailing address. Itā€™s the same one youā€™ve sent every other package to without a problem! Ha Ha

Iā€™m still waiting on a slingshot I ordered last summer but looks like it wonā€™t get here in time for me to use it as Iā€™d planed. Oh well, that one is on me, I should have paid for faster shipping.

Now I donā€™t mean to sound like the post office does not lose things, they certainly do, but if they havenā€™t delivered it or sent a notice about the package then they donā€™t have it / donā€™t know where it is. Going down to the post office is just unlikely to help.

Iā€™ve had a package with tracking be marked as delivered except it never was. :expressionless: I was home at the time it claimed to be delivered. Only a $6 item, not worth stealing, donā€™ā€™t live in a neighborhood were mail theft is a problem. And mailbox is close to the house anyway.

Yep. Stuff happens.

This is why itā€™s always worth a phone call (even to a message machine at the post office, if available), or a post card to Postmaster at Station ZIP _.
Thatā€™s it. Youā€™ve contacted your local Post Office to ask.

(The Post Office may tell you to directly inquire at a citywide/area ā€œMissing Packageā€ number at some other post office in the area ā€” some packages with damaged labels end up ā€œnearā€ but not at the right local post office).

Now one confusing thing is ā€” the shipping labels on packages from China never seem to have any relation to the sender Iā€™m expecting to hear from.
Iā€™ve gotten two items sent simultaneously show up in two different packing envelopes, one forwarded via some deal they have with a different company, the other direct.

If the seller sends you a photograph of the package as sent ā€” you could print the picture to send that to your Postmaster, to make it reasonable to search for it.

A few weeks ago I was expecting a few items including a Schrade SCHF42 Fixed Blade Knife. I already have a stupid amount of knives but itā€™s still he kind of thing I get sweaty palms waiting for. I walked down to check the mail fairly early and got there just as the letter carrier was putting stuff in our boxes. I noticed she shoved one package into the box right next to mine then started to walk away. Knowing I had a few packages due to show up anytime I ask if she was sure she put that package in the right box. She ask, ā€œAre you Jerry?ā€ I said yes and she said Opps I did put it in the wrong one.
So I have watched postal workers making mistakes and itā€™s not at all surprising. However if the letter carrier shoved it in the wrong box; asking the post office is no help.
