GearBest requiring me to search for my package

As many knows, I have ordered allot from several sellers, including over 100 packages from Gearbest.com since the start of July this year.
Most packages has got here, some quite fast, but there is no system. Etc, sometimes I get orders places after some other orders that already has shipped out, of course talking about packages with tracking here.
Then they have a bug in their system, so some packages over $40, do not get tracking, despite the box is checked. These packages takes forever to get here to Norway, and after 50-60 days, I have got refund for around three packages now, still waiting for at least 3 more that soon hit the 50 day mark. No package with tracking has been lost, but some is getting here very slow. Like batteries.
But that also happen on BangGood and AliExpress.

I have to say that I in these cases that the package has not got here in 50-60 days, have got to my post office, and asked them to search for it. But I also have a very small post office, so they can search it using 5-10 minutes at the most.
I also have a deal that they do not send packages that is not picked up within 14 days back to the seller.

I also find the standard e-mail from GB irritating, etc, they ask me to check the address…what!! you have sent me over 100 packages the last months, I use the same address on all of them. So nothing wrong there.

But to be sure you get your package as fast as it goes, use tracking. If not using tracking, it can take forever, and maybe not get there.

Even 80-90 days after the packages I have got refund for was sent, they have not got here.

BangGood has always treated me very well. This is the first time I’ve had any issue with GearBest so the first I’ve dealt with their customer service. It’s a learning experience.

Thanks again awesome people of BLF

That was my first thought when they ask me to confirm the mailing address. It’s the same one you’ve sent every other package to without a problem! Ha Ha

I’m still waiting on a slingshot I ordered last summer but looks like it won’t get here in time for me to use it as I’d planed. Oh well, that one is on me, I should have paid for faster shipping.

Now I don’t mean to sound like the post office does not lose things, they certainly do, but if they haven’t delivered it or sent a notice about the package then they don’t have it / don’t know where it is. Going down to the post office is just unlikely to help.

I’ve had a package with tracking be marked as delivered except it never was. :expressionless: I was home at the time it claimed to be delivered. Only a $6 item, not worth stealing, don’’t live in a neighborhood were mail theft is a problem. And mailbox is close to the house anyway.

Yep. Stuff happens.

This is why it’s always worth a phone call (even to a message machine at the post office, if available), or a post card to Postmaster at Station ZIP _.
That’s it. You’ve contacted your local Post Office to ask.

(The Post Office may tell you to directly inquire at a citywide/area “Missing Package” number at some other post office in the area — some packages with damaged labels end up “near” but not at the right local post office).

Now one confusing thing is — the shipping labels on packages from China never seem to have any relation to the sender I’m expecting to hear from.
I’ve gotten two items sent simultaneously show up in two different packing envelopes, one forwarded via some deal they have with a different company, the other direct.

If the seller sends you a photograph of the package as sent — you could print the picture to send that to your Postmaster, to make it reasonable to search for it.

A few weeks ago I was expecting a few items including a Schrade SCHF42 Fixed Blade Knife. I already have a stupid amount of knives but it’s still he kind of thing I get sweaty palms waiting for. I walked down to check the mail fairly early and got there just as the letter carrier was putting stuff in our boxes. I noticed she shoved one package into the box right next to mine then started to walk away. Knowing I had a few packages due to show up anytime I ask if she was sure she put that package in the right box. She ask, “Are you Jerry?” I said yes and she said Opps I did put it in the wrong one.
So I have watched postal workers making mistakes and it’s not at all surprising. However if the letter carrier shoved it in the wrong box; asking the post office is no help.

That’s a good idea because GearBest has always sent a picture of the package. I don’t have a printer, though I should for stuff like that.

A few times i have had to go looking for packages only to find them returned to the delivery depot, with no notification even when someone has been in the house that day. (We have letterboxes in the front door)
The postman is supposed to leave a card informing of this but it seems to be too much hassle to ring the bell never mind fill out a card.
Checking at the post office is a good start (for me anyway) when something is overdue.

What country are you in CRX? :~

UK

GB screwed up 3 orders consecutively aft abt 6 orders beforehand… idk if they purposely screw up people’s orders after a while just so they get some gain?….

Gearbest and Dinodirect are the only two sellers that I have put in the do not buy from ever again category. There are other sellers that have the same stuff at about the price. No need to deal with the bottom of the barrel.

Don’t buy from them until they get their act together. They probably won’t however.

and it’s still not here I’ll never order again from them

me too! so far banggood has never been screwy with my orders…

Edit: Tinywind has never screwed around too

my postal service is allowed to leave parcels near my door ( has to walk into the frontyard 3m)
lost parcels are always sitting or “forgot“ at the Austrian customs :expressionless:

i am not afraid of thefts in my city btw

Not right away martin but soon….looking at the situation on the europe J)

They probably ask everyone to go and check their post office, I dont know how post offices work around the world, but over here they leave a slip in my mailbox in case the shipment is too big to put it in.

When someone asks me to check mail I simply wait for day, if no package arrives or notification from post office in my mailbox, then I tell the seller the next day that my package is not at the post office.

Walking to the post office and asking around would be useless and silly at best in my country :D!

Having 180 days Paypal protection makes things more easy going regarding orders from China, be it 45 days like it used to, I would be concerned about orders being lost as well as money.

They have offered to resend the light or give me store credit. I told them I want a refund to my PayPal account, and I’m waiting to see what the say.
One thing I didn’t mention before because I didn’t think it very important.
A few months ago I wrote a positive review for an item I bought. Then someone from customer service opened a ticket just to ask me if I would be willing to write a few reviews of the company on other websites.
They said in return for each review I wrote, they would give my 500 points. I told them I would do it and they sent me three links to websites I had never seen before, and were just for reviews, similar to Yelp.
I wrote three reviews mentioning their flashlight selection and reasonable prices. I’d never had a problem with them in the past so I didn’t really address much about that in my reviews, although one site made me add a ticket number to my review. I just used the ticket number GB had opened to ask if I’d writer the reviews.
I now feel like going back to see if I could edit them and knock some stars off the reviews I wrote. They could have the points back, they’ve not been very useful to me anyway.

even deal with questionable vendors such as this?If I have to wait over 2 months for a 10.00 $ Ganzo why would I even trust them with more money when there are other more reliable Sellars such as fasstech? Are they even still a viable vendor?

The same thing happened to me with the purchase of the XTar H2 from the gearbest deal. I opened a ticket on paypal and they asked me to search by myself in the Italian post system… I did that and it seams that the packet never arrived to Italy… I’m still waiting for the light from July 30th and I don’t know if is possible to optain the refound or the reshipment for the purchased item.
