Hi guys, this is my first review so please don’t be too harsh. But as always I wouldn’t mind suggestions to improve my future reviews. These photos are all taken with an old Samsung Note 2. Sorry for the poor quality but I just wanna have a quick and easy review. Please ask for more photos if you need them. I’ve only seen a German review of this light from TLF and I thought it needed a dedicated English review. After Chrome translated the page for me, The text and photos didn’t aligned and it pissed me off.
I got the light from the HKE sale quite recently and I thought why not? This could be my first Spark light. I really liked the design so I went for it. Furthermore I didn’t have many AA lights or at least 2 for that matter. This will be my 2nd AA light after my EA11.
First off the pros and cons:
PROS:
-Pretty bright for 2AA
-Has temp control(too hot and it shuts off)
-Has a diffuser lens(really like it!)
-Removable pocket clip
-USD39
CONS:
-HA type II
–2 electronic switches that does the same thing
-Weird ramping when voltage is above 3v(working range is 1.8-7V)
-Tube is 1 piece so no option for single AA
Contents:
Spare O-rings and Diffuser Lens
Parts:
I’m using EVOLTA Panasonic batteries. Both switches are electronic switches.
Threads:
Anodized square cut threads. Lock-out is possible on rear threads.
Front end need to unscrewed pretty far to be locked out so its not recommended.
There is reverse polarity protection.
Front end compared to EA11 on the left and PD12 on the right:
The reflector is narrower than both lights but their LEDs sit about as far back as each other.(Don;t know if that makes sense LOL)
Its able to tail stand as well.
Its HAII means its easy to get scratches, rubbed it against some surfaces for a bit and I got this:
BEAMSHOTS LATER TONIGHT!
OKAY BEMASHOTS!!!
From left to right: SL52,EA11,PD12,BLF A6(5A tint)
Didn’t know the EA11 had PWM… its on level 3 BTW.
