review: nitecore MT10A

M4D MAX, Nice review

I would call the “halo” the Don King hear do. (a US joke I think

freeme it looks like the link is gone and thank you for your work and GB thread!

Freeme, does your post refer to this?:

Was anyone else a little apprehensive scrolling down the review pictures, not sure if we’d see any “moon” shots?

I have the same question as well!

The EA11 has horrible runtimes on an eneloop iirc…

What a waste by using eneloop on EA11 in terms of brightness?

thanks guys for the nice words!
even if no moon showed up

tailstand is possible, but not very stable

i think the tailswitch is a big improvement over the EA11

today to get to the mail boxes (po boxes) this light i t was worth it to me ,and I felt like a kid at Christmas I live this little light the only problem I have is that my sanyo flat top 840 mah don’t work ,other than that I am happy thanks M4D M4X for the re iew and discount code !

Your hard work is appreciated.

Thanks for a good review, both written and video.

I’m in the office right now and i can’t see the video or pics (blocked) and i have a question. Are the side switch made of soft or hard rubber or the plastic type like the Olight s15…?

after a short trip into the mancave i can say : soft rubber

Bummer. MT10A is officially off my wishlist.

why?

hmmm soft is flexible term….

i can deform with the finger nail
but a normal operation will not i think…

maybe you can give me something to compare with?

Well, I never really liked the side switch. I was really, and i mean really, disappointed with the ‘upgrade’ of the MT1A. I was praying and hoping for a higher lumen and 14500/AA version of the MT1A, a higher lumen (like 0ver 300 lumens), and everything about the light is in tact. But what did Nitecore did? Added a Red LED, couple of side switches and no more twisting of the head for instant access to Turbo mode.

I have an S15, yeah, i gave it a try, i kinda like it but miss my Jetbeam PC10 (which was stole from me while i was sleeping in our company sleeping lounge, really sucks) and I loved how i can easily use the highest brightness with just a simple turn of the lights head.

Then why did i but the S15? Lost my PC10 so I had to find a replacement, the S15 was the only locally available at that time (bought my PC10 online from HK) and can use 14500 or AA, so, yeah, i gave it a shot, considering the switch is a plastic one, unlike the S10 which is rubber. I have an S10, too, BTW.

Had Nitecore upgraded ONLY the LED and left the light as is (because it is a beautiful design IMO) and they SHOULD HAVE only upgraded the LED.

I would have considered getting the MT10A if the side switch is a hard plastic button, like the S15, but soft rubber? Noooooo way. I aint going to see those buttons slowly deteriorate over the time, no way.

I almost bought this from the GB, but the anodizing finish stopped me. even though it has nice features, It looks cheap and almost like a paint. (sort of like the shiny painted finish on $1 police 3W dollarstore lights.
if it had a more satin better anodizing finish like my older MT2A and my Sunwayman F40A then it would be much better looking.

this little monster with a 14500 puts out 900 lumens which is more than my first budget C8 s it does have a instant turbo access but agreed the battery tube anodizing is not HAIII like the tail cap I do like and miss my olight s1 I lost night before last when my wife and I car broke down in the middle of nowhere and I lost it ouch that hurt, but the s1 is another l8ght you might want to look at

Good review.

This is a very nice light. Very easy to use UI. I really like being able to step up and down, it is almost as good as a rotary switch. Very bright with a 14500, not so bright but very efficient with a NiMH. Build quality is very good, huge square threads on the head, trapezoidal threads on the tail.

The anodizing is very brittle, mine has lots of chips, acquired over a few weeks. For me that is not an issue, but it is consistent with the low selling price compared to SWM, Fenix etc.

It replaced a Zebralight SC5, thanks to a better UI.

the UI red light option I was just disappointed by the body anodizing but it doesn’t effect the function or performance

since I carelessly lost my olight S1 went to replace me with the nitecore ec11,it a little bigger but I really like the out put and UI
