Review: Hugsby XP-12

I’m not even entirely sure what affiliate links do. I just put in the links I was given. Would I be able to still put in a link to the company website who provided the product and a link to that specific item just copied from the website?

Then you better not to use this word

Affiliate link is “your link” and if someone buy through it you get some reward for it. The first one if probably an affilate link, the second one is probaly
a tracking link for the seller to know how many visits or purchases they have got from your review.
Anyway, here is a direct link, just use it to remove all doubts:
http://www.tomtop.com/mini-portable-led-flashlight-cree-xpe-r3-120lm-pocket-torch-light-with-hand-wrist-strap-rope-l0028.html

Are the Hugsbys pretty good about having cree or other high quality leds? SK68’s have kinda capped out, from what I’ve read :frowning: Looks nice, think I’ll get one, at least

BTW the link in op still isnt working

I think genuine Hugsby’s use genuine Cree. The problem is they became too popular and there are plenty of fakes out there. Topmop and LiteTeck (aliexpress seller) sell the genuine ones.

I couldn’t resist one, so it’s on the way  And thanks for the review!

The xp-12 is a little gem. It also has a coated glass lense, not sure if I saw that mentioned in the review.

as someone has posted elsewhere, XP-11 and XP-12 are cheaper here after shipping is calculated eventho it says free ship:

Mini CREE XPE R3 Portable Pocket LED Flashlight Penlight Torch Light 120LM Black for sale | eBay?
XPE-R3 Portable Pocket LED Flashlight Torch Light 120LM + Hand Wrist Strap N8TK | eBay?

Take into account currency exchange rates and the difference might be the other way around ;)!

For me these appear to be more expensive than the plain .com US$ ones.

for US, it’s cheaper from .ca because eventho the .com site says free ship, when you go to pay, it automatically
adds shipping, granted it’s like $.75 so not huge but that aint free :-).

Thats odd, its free for me(non-US, EU state) :D!
You might want to edit your post to include this valuable piece of information because BLF aint about USA customer only ;)!

In both reviews :D!

To be honest, I don’t know how the shipping calculates for each place. I’ll talk to the company rep and see how it all works so I can get it cleared up for everyone.

**I found the ebay seller is also from Tomtop Ltd, would it cheaper including shiping cost ?

I checked the price $6.03 is not included the shiping cost.
If you want to know the shiping cost , you can input your delivery address, and the system will automatically calculate it for you.
Different countries will have different shiping cost . It seems more fair to customers from different places .

Anyways, tomtop does not ship to Mauritius. They shipped there once and after that, they stopped shipping to Mauritius on ebay (probably costs them too much)

Shipping is on a PER ITEM basis and cost me $0.88 per flashlight I ordered without tracking. So, it costs me $2.65 in shipping fees for 3 which is kind of a ‘rip off’ :D. Anyways, the price was still very chompetitive and the ebay link do not ship to Mauritius.

I think there are some confusions…

for me as a US customer, I found it was cheapest at .ca auction site. At the .com auction site, shipping is $1.99.
At tomtop site, it shows free ship but when I checked out w/ paypal, it adds $.71 for shipping. I just tried it again just now.

I’ve bought several of each all from the .ca site, have received the initial 2 orders. I can’t vouch for all locations,
only US. You just need to try all 3 sites.

from .ca, the XP11 is still free ship, but the XP12 now $1.99 to ship.

Got my XP-12, pulls 0.71A from two fully charged NiMh’s(Turnigy).
Build quality on par with my XP-11, which is very good for the price!

Tint is towards purplish vs warmish/greenish on XP-11.

How much lumens you estimate it? Any runtime test yet? Got 3 stuck on the slow boaaaaaaat

Forgot about the runtime  ! But given its brighter and runs off 2 batteries, it could be slightly bit longer than XP-11, just a guess.

No luxmeter, so no lumens here :D!

Thanks for review!
Small inside dia,so my Lidl batteries where unusable.
Eneloops and IKEAs fit. Just.
