Ultrafire 3 Mode XM-L , P60 Drop in , purchased from Manafont.com
I will be testing the Ultrafire 3 mode XM-L P60 drop in , Modes are - High - Med - Low with mode memory , and as long as you leave it of for more than 2 seconds it will restart in the mode you turned the light of in , any faster and it will change modes . Beam is typical XM-L , when white walling , the color will shift from the central hotspot to the spill . This one has a white hotspot , slightly yellowish corona and a purple bluish white spill , all of which vanish once outside .
Lets try some performance figures :
Callie's 2250 = High - 3.27A , Med - 1.04A , Low - 0.18A
Samsung 28A = High - 2.97A , Med - 1A , Low - 0.18A
Xtar 2600 = High - 2.97A , Med - 0.97A , Low - 0.16A
WOW18650 = High - 2.46A , Med - 0.82A , Low - 015A
Output = Medium - 280ish , Low - 50ish
Now high needs talking about .... With the Callie's 2250 it was doing 820+ on a warm start [ pre heated or run ] and the sag began almost instantly , and it continued to sag until about 618L where it seemed to stabilize ....
So I tried the WOW18650 as it was doing less current , and it started at about 670L and sagged to 600ish where it seemed to stabilize .
Hmmm , you may wish to check out the Solarforce review ... I know folks like high current , but it does not mean your getting , or more importantly , maintaining output = to the current drawn , which is why I like the low current drop ins .
Im going to have to explore this drop in a little more , I may pull it apart as time permits , and maybe try another emitter in it , do some swapping and changing , I may end up using a 1.4A driver on this one .
I love the driver , 3 modes less junk , I love XM-L , its a good balance of throw , output , and spill/flood , but loosing 200L to sag , that will need exploring for a cause .
