Olight S1 Limited versions

Have the amounts of each different finish been stated anywhere?
Tried to search, but all I found was that there will be 5000 Titanium-ones being made. But how are those divided between the two options?
And the Copper-ones?

I ordered a Raw copper with SS bezel from goinggear. Supposedly it was exclusive to them and limited to only 500pcs. Coated copper with SS and blue bezel are available in many other shops, I don’t believe this one would have any collective value of some sorts. This one is being made by the thousands.

Olights are not available from several chinese shops anymore because of MAP policy violations, but there are decent coupons that you can use on Goinggear and Illumn, both USA sellers.

Cu with SS is not exclusive from what I saw. Perhaps they have the smaller serial numbers?

According to GG, the RAW Cu + SS Bezel is exclusive to them, I was able to find Cu + SS elsewhere but is was the coated copper version, IMO not as nice as bare copper… http://goinggear.com/featured-products/olight-s1-cu-baton-exclusive-raw-ss-copper-1-x-cr123-16340-xm-l2-500-lumen-led-limited-edtion-flashlight.html

And it is much cheaper than GG.

Sounds interesting… do you have a link? I’m also after the titanium one

Me too.

I also wondered about the titanium 5000 limited number quoted, i thought there might be 2500/2500 polished/ sand blasted but when i got my polished version the serial number is 2515.

So it may be there are more polished s1,s than bead blasted, or 5000 of each version, or for some reason, they split the number between the two finishes- a bit confusing.

My thoughts exactly! The Ti-one, I got, is 2652…

Im interested in the S1 titanium version but i wonder how easy is it to scratch the finish, is it well done or sloppy ?

I’m sure the finish is well done, but Titanium does scratch relatively easy compared to HAIII Aluminum.

Polished titanium is a bit tougher than SS but still prone to scratches, however bead blasted titanium finish is very tough, I have a Titanium coyoo bead blasted finish in my keychain and after 3 months still no signs of any scratch.

I have found just the opposite. My polished Titanium Maratac aaa scratches way easier then my polished SS Maratac aaa.

okay i see thanks for your answers

1) How does the S1 Baton titanium hold up scratch-wise now you guys have had one for a few months?

2) Read a complaint elsewhere that the lumens is much less than the black version + the light appears ‘yellow’. Agreed or dismiss the complaint?

Well, I have both Ti-versions, but they mostly sit on the shelf, so no scratching happening to my samples…

And since the Ti has NW-emitter instead of the CW-ones found in Cu- and standardversions, I guess you can call it “yellow”. Hence the appearence being “dimmer”. Lumen difference is supposed to be only 20 and at least to my eyes, that seems quite accurate…

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my Olight S1 Copper Rose Gold flashlight has a relatively neutral beam. It is advertised as cool white, and certainly it is cooler than the "neutral-white" titanium edition.

I come from the world of photography, where anything between about 5000K and 5600K is considered to be neutral. Based on that, and also on testing against white walls and various light-colored wood targets, I would describe the tint of my copper S1 as neutral.

Maukka confirmed my observations when he measured output from his copper S1. He measured CCT at 5410K.

Sad to say, maukka also reported that CRI on his S1 was the lowest that he had measured on any flashlight up to that time.

I do not have any measurements for the Ti edition that Olight sells as "neutral white." I believe it is at least 1000K cooler, i.e., its CCT is in the range 4000K to 4400K.

Thanks. Yes Ive heard that before that about 5000k is optimum light. That ends my titanium quest.

The Titanium S1 that I received seems different from the stock photos I’d seen of the S1 Ti polished.
Mine has the copper colored accents, instead of the blue color. Here’s a stock photo of what it should look like: PHOTO LINK.

But what makes mine different is the tint of the titanium body. Rather than being a brightly polished “chrome-like” finish, it’s almost like a “dark chrome”. I think it’s terrific as I was a little concerned about the light being too shiny in the polished titanium version. It looks like this:

Is this how it was supposed to be? Or did Olight make some kind of batch variation on the S1 Ti polished models? The stock photos certainly show it looking more like a bright silver finish.

Titanium is darker than steel
