Both good lights. Different strokes for different folks. Some may like the twisty and others the tailswitch. Buy both and your Xmas shopping will be done
I vote for copper! But there’s the Lumintop Tool and Maratac Copper … To be more realistic I would want it in blue Let’s get a GB going! Nice review btw… I have 2 AAA lights at the moment, Eagletac D25aaa and a DQG AAA clicky… Both are great except for the tiny clicky on the DQG
Personally I like a clicky with a clip better than a twisty with ring, but this still looks nice. Actually I asked about the driver size because I was considering swapping this driver into one of my 348’s, but I think it’s too big.
I agree though, this could be a top seller if the price was right.
PD - I also prefer the 348...when I am at work. That is because I like the clip and have an available shirt pocket for it. (BTW - For your little driver...try to get with Dale. I think he has something that can fit. I was going to do that until I ran out.)
On the other hand..the pocket clip does not matter for the vehicle or the house etc. Actually the tail attachment would probably be more useful because a lanyard can be attached or a metal ring which in turn could be attached to one of those HF carabiners.
As for Colors.....if everyone asked RemanG to to start an interest list to show that a color (or colors) is worthwhile I know that you guys will get them. There has just has to be enough serious interest to make it happen.
Just saw this while wandering over Banggood store. How cute!
A couple of years ago I ended up modifying a Saik SA-9 by replacing its XR-E with one of those 219B’s. Despite a (to my eyes) somewhat lackluster beam divergence, in no time I had to sell it to one of my friends who got fancied by. Tint and colour rendering were amazing…
I’d really like to know more about this being driven with li-ion 10440s, mind you.
Manufacturer says it is not 10440 capable, I did run one of them on a 3.2V LiFePO4 for a few minutes with no apparent issues, but have no button top 10440’s to try it out.
It is quite sufficient with just alkaline, I am not going to run anything else, but NiMh, alkaline or 1.8V lithium primaries (L92). Hope this helps…
100 lumen on a Nichia 219B should be in the 600-700ma range… So it “should” work, but I have been bit by that word as well. It would be interesting to see about color LEDs…
Guesstimation battery to driver current load for alkalines? :quest: Well, that should mean about 800+mA of load for NiMH/NiCD class batteries, better suited for sustained high output operation.
How hot does this thing gets after a good while on HIGH?
