Did I get a fake Hugsby Xp-1 ?

Thanks for the warning, I’ll buy from TomTop on ebay.

Order received from Tomtop, it is a genuine hugsby. Thx again guys

I was not sure about mine too, but guess what? It accepts my Efest 10440 no problem….so……

it s good, i like them
thanks

I made the mistake of ordering two Hugsby XP-1s and one Hugsby XP-2 from aliexpress.
I ordered the XP1’s from this seller: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Portable-Mini-Penlight-CREE-XPE-R3-LED-Flashlight-Torch-Hugsby-XP-1-Pocket-Light-1-Switch/32516586812.html

I ordered a single XP2 from this seller: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Hugsby-XP-2-CREE-XPE-R3-Mini-LED-Flashlight-High-Power-LED-Torch-Portable-Outdoor-Camping/32334575885.html

All 3 of the lights are fakes. Shiny anodizing, they feel really cheap, very low output, shiny rubber button on the back, and smooth reflector. Has any one had any luck getting their money back from AliExpress or am I screwed here? I wish I would have found this thread before I ordered.

I didn’t have any luck getting a refund from a seller on Ali although I didn’t try very hard. Sent an e-mail telling them I wanted a refund for 2 fake XP1’s and got a great reply: “These are the new improved Hugsby XP1’s!!!”

Isn’t supposed to be a button for that?

Yes there is an “open a dispute” button. I’ll do that today and supply pictures showing the fake “features” on the lights that I received. I’m not expecting a lot of cooperation out of AliExpress, I was hoping maybe they had a rep that posted here that could help me.

Lesson learned for me. I will check here first before buying from these shady Chinese sites. Thankfully it isn’t a lot of money but it’s still disappointing when I could have had a real Hugsby for just a few dollars more.

Just wanted to follow up on this thread. I managed to get a refund on both the counterfeit XP1 and XP2. I then purchased another XP1 and XP2 from LiteTech on AliExpress. This seller was linked and recommended by a few members several posts above this one. The 2nd batch of Hugsby lights finally arrived from LiteTech and they are genuine. The anodizing and threads are high quality and the light output is what I expected. Just wanted to follow up and say thanks to the members that pointed me in the right direction.

I had a SingFire SF348 and lost it. The XP1 is a fantastic replacement for that light and I’m quite happy with the quality of the genuine Hugsby lights.

Hi there!
I don’t want to open new thread so I will post here.

Few days ago I have received 3 Hugsby XP-2 from Aliexpress
But it doesn’t look like original, or even like on pictures in the offer.
It works with DQG 10440

What do You think?

And here is a Led

The led looks fake (99% sure it is a latticebright instead of a Cree)

I just received an XP-1 today from the second seller you linked here, LED Flashlight 101 and it appears to be a fake. It has a smooth reflector, a shiny rubber boot and looks painted rather than anodized. I am not really surprised at all, since it cost 2.89 with free shipping for only one light! However, just wanted to reiterate what blftec stated regarding this seller selling fakes.

I have an XP-1 and 2 XP-2 coming from eBay. They are probably fakes :-/ If they are I’m going to try to get a refund from the seller/ebay. It is unacceptable for them to sell counterfeit items that don’t match the images.

BG now carry fake Hugsby lights.

A BG staff even stated it is really 3000 lumens. :person_facepalming:

Is this the real deal?

Pretty nice price.

Its hard to tell, but GB’s pictures usually match the item they are selling. That looks real to me, but i would personally only buy them from TomTop as they are the only confirmed dealer of real hugsby lights.

I received 2/3 of the ones i ordered from ebay. Both were fake, but I was able to get refunds. - the fake lights are decent, they work and put out a good bit of light.

I think Tomtop does not carry it anymore :frowning:

Seems legitimate to me. And price is about right. If its < $5, I’d start getting real skeptical.

How about the packaging, should it have a branded blister pack? The boxes shown by GearBest buyers seem to be generic, white with “flashlight” written on it.
